Did anyone else buy Acura Care? Is it worth it?

Just picked up a '15 TLX (4 cyl) CPO. They offered me Acura Care and it sounded good at the time but now wondering if I really need it. The car sits at just about 43,xxx miles so it has another 19k left or til June 2020. I was told to either buy it at time of purchase or NOT be able to get it all.

Just looking for thoughts and opinions on the Acura Care. As of now Im really considering canceling it just cause it put me underwater on the car loan.

Thanks in advance.

There is an Acura dealer I want to say on the east coast that gives better prices on Acura care then most dealership. You can buy it online

As long as car is till under warranty the contract can be bought. Also, keep in mind the TLX got an extension on the drivetrain but I do not recall what the limitations were.

I considered it at one point about 2yrs into ownership but opted not to get it. All my issues so far have been covered under standard warranty.

This is the website to buy online. I've heard both good and bad things about this dealer though

It's worth at least some amount of money for the peace of mind beyond the factory warranty. Remember you can pay much less than the price they offer.

Whatever the price is, you have to look at it as a hedged bet that you will have a covered claim within the period between the end of the factory warranty and the end of the extended warranty. What's the worst and most expensive repair that could happen? Even if you think you might face a $2500 engine repair job (which is rare in Hondas if you take care of them) how much is it worth to you to put down as a pre-payment on something that might never occur?

Tell them, "I'm interested in the extended warranty, but at $2,000 it doesn't. It's worth perhaps $1,000 to me." They can apply "coupons" against the warranty and knock the price down.

Good luck!
