2015 C300 or 2016 TLX

Guys,
My brother is looking to replace his car and he is shopping around.
He is considering 2016 TLX or 2015 C300. We test drove both cars, and C300 standsout in the design department but TLX handled better.

Now the big big question is reliability? What’s your take on 2015 C300 reliability and cost of ownership? I am not asking about TLX since we found a lot of info here, thanks to many positive and negative threads

Thanks

Warranty left? Own brand dealership car? CPO available? Problem with a specific used car vs the overall trends for a car brand is you have no idea how it was used. One of the reasons I will buy a brand or product line down rather then go used.

I find the C-class to be way too small. Otherwise it's a solid ride as expected by Mercedes.

We will get him extended warranty for sure and one of our criteria is the car must be sold ad returned to the same dealer. We want to see the maintenance record.

Thanks

It's a bit smaller but my brother doesn't mind. I have no doubt it's a solid car but reliability is always an issue with German cars. We just want to make sure he doesn't spend half of his day arguing with dealer to fix issues lol

I'd definitely keep in mind that 2015 was the first model year of the new C-class. He should do his homework and find out what some of the issues may be.

[shameless plug] In MTL area, I know a nearly immaculate white TLX V6 SH-AWD 2016, cream interior with only 41000km, not even a dent. Comes with remote starter, 18" winter wheels (alloy wheels + Michelin X-Ice3 + OEM pressure sensors). $28500CA firm + txs [/shameless plug]

Yeah, if you're set on your opinion about the TLX, I'd seriously go to a Mercedes forum and ask about the 2015 C300 -- you'll probably get a lot more first-hand experiences there. Of course, you may have already done that.

Thanks. I will definitely let my bro know. Appreciate it.

We haven't done it. Thanks for the tip.

one of our own had bought a C300 and completely modified....he dumped it due to some tranny switch that would have costed about $2k to replace.
