18 TLX dead battery/charging issue....Bluetooth???
Has anyone ever heard of the Bluetooth not turning off and draining the cars battery? Came back from a 6 day trip and the car (2018 TLX Aspec) was completely dead. Had to manually unlock. The wierd thing was I went to call the Dealer for roadside assistance and the call came through the cars speakers - I was still outside the car and it was off. I was able to jump the car, drove home (maybe an hour and 15 minutes) with no issues. Once in my driveway I shut the car off and restarted - and got a charging system error message. What the heck. At the dealer now but they seem to have blown off my Bluetooth comment - I think i might be on to something. Ideas??

When it comes to electronics, it's highly probable but sounds like a one-off, haven't seen the issue reported as often on the newer TLX.. It was pretty common on the 3rd Gen TL though. Just let the dealer take care of it, I'm sure they'll find that it is the culprit after troubleshooting and will replace the HandsFreeLink unit.

You might have has enough charge for low power items but not the starting system. You probably woke up the Bluetooth component when you tried to start the car. Its the dealers problem but Acuras have had electronic issues in the past. Batteries died too quickly in the 3G's.

It’s been at the dealership since 5pm yesterday, I’m in a loaner. They installed a new battery as a precaution. They also checked the charging system sense fuse that “tends to blow” when the vehicle is jump started. They do not know why the charger system fail message is on, alternator appears to be charging the battery.

Well all they did was change the battery and they now say they actually found a fuse blown - due to the jump start. Tech says batteries have always been an issue ever since he's been at Acura which is not good for me as I go out of town on business a few times a year for over a week at a time. Never had a car that wouldn't start after one week sitting.

I did have a parasitic draw from the Bluetooth in my 07 TL Type S. They replaced the module (known problem) under warranty.

Two word: battery tender
I traveled a lot for work and just have it on a tender too and never have an issue
