Traded my 2014 MDX Base for a 2018 White Diamond Pearl / Espresso Tech 2 weeks ago. Hard to believe how smooth, quiet and quick it is in relation to the 2014. Also shifts smoother than the 2018 9-speed I test drove. The new one is quite the nice upgrade and very enjoyable on the road. The tech enhancements/additions are challenging to deal with. Biggest issues are where to find the controls, how to turn the various features on/off and what the warning alerts mean and where to look for them. I am learning as I go and they are beginning to make sense. So far, I much prefer Apple CarPlay over the stock Acura system(s). Siri Voice Commands are much less cumbersome to use, quicker to respond and more effective to get the response you are looking for. Now that iOS 12 has been launched, I am anxious to see how Google Maps and/or Waze function.

My sequence number is 1125. Is there any way to determine how many Sport Hybrids were built in 2018 and how many were Technology vs. Advance?

I have also noticed the acoustic effect mentioned here. It is more noticeable when I pull into our garage at slow speed under electric power. In fact, it caused my wife to ask, "What is that funny whining noise?".

The MDX Sport Hybrid is produced in limited quantities and those of us who have them know how truly special they are. I believe a shade over 2,000 were produced for the 2017 model and 1,500 for 2018. Not sure of model breakdown bu probably skewed a bit to the Advance. At only $1,500 more than the gasoline model it is a strong value proposition. Many dealers discount them (some don't as much) so it is possible to get a great deal as well.

I have 9,600 miles on my 2017 in 10 months and I smile every day I drive !!!

I hope they produce more than 1500 for 2019. I will be looking to replace a low mile 2013 RDX and would seriously consider a 2019 MDX Sport Hybrid, but only if i can get a good price. It appears that dealers will not have to negotiate, if the supply is very low.

I was also considering a 2019 Hybrid and had the same concerns about price/negotiation and low supply/availability numbers. Then I (surprisingly) found a couple of 2018 Tech Hybrids and compared them to the 2019 (not a lot of difference). Made a great deal and am very happy with the choice.

Do a search to see what might be available for 2018 Hybrids. Crest Acura in Syracuse is where I found mine and they they still have a black/parchment 2018 Tech on the lot that has been there 2+ months. They were willing to deal on mine and with the 2019s starting to pile in, I'll bet you could get a sweet deal. BTW, I have no affiliation with Crest; just a happy guy to own a Hybrid.
