2016 MDX SH-AWD with 24" Wheels
Hey everyone, new to this forum. Have owned a 2016 MDX SH-AWD for over a year now. Since purchasing it I have added the sport running boards, sport front and rear bumpers, chrome bumper protector, all season mats and 24" Lexani Gravity wheels in mb finish with Lexani LX-thirty 275/30/24 tires. Also just put red MGP Caliper covers on as well.
What do you guys think? What should I do next? I love the dual exhaust on the new 2017 and wish mine had that. Also like the new grill too.

Honestly looks really good, though to be honest I would never put anything bigger than 20's-21's. How is ride quality?

Ride quality is good. Granted the ride quality would be more cushioned in smaller wheels and tires but there trade offs. Started off with 20s, then went to 22s, and now 24s. The other wheels were too small for my taste. Wanted the look of the 24s. I saw one other MDX with 24s and loved the way it looked and that gave me the idea to do it. If I never saw that one I would of just stayed with 22s.

No it looks really good to me. I just don't think I would like to live with it on a daily basis is all I am saying. The biggest issue with the 3G MDX is the tiny wheels. The stance looks awesome and the wheels look really good too. You didn't go with some nasty heavy chrome garbage. I like it a lot.

Would you consider doing a brake swap, if it is possible? I'm thinking like OEM TL Brembos, or maybe the 2G RL brakes. Paint them a nice colour to compliment the dark body... The red caliper covers are a bit tacky...
Otherwise, it is a sharp looking ride. Never thought I'd like 24s on an MDX, but boy did you ever prove me wrong! How wide are the wheels?

Personally, I prefer the 2016 front end over the 2017.
it might even be fairly easy to make the 2017 rear bumper/exhaust work. I have a feeling it likely is a direct swap for the bumper and you might have to replace the mufflers/tips at most. 25 minutes of work for a muffler shop, if you can source the parts.

You'd gotta do some research, my man. You can look at parts websites, like oemacuraparts.com, to start. See how things look and potentially match up. See if you can just bolt the mufflers on. Take your rear bumper off. See what you'd potentially have to purchase or replace. Etc...
As for price... No idea. If you can wait and find a front wrecked 2017 at an import auto wrecker, you can save a bunch of money. That thing would have to be in rough shape though to be considered totalled since it is brand new. Not sure if paint colours are the same. Even if they are, they might not match, so maybe have to get paint also. Buying new from the dealership will be expensive. You can try after market. But I don't recommend it.

Thank you. Like I said above, I saw 24s on another MDX from the guy I bought mine from and that changed my world. Lol. I wasn't even thinking about 24s. The wheels are 24x9 with a +35mm offset. They fit perfect. Here's a pic of the other MDX I'm talking about. This one is a 2015
EDIT: Nevermind just seen 275! Very well done! I hate how the 3G comes with 235-245 wide tires. I currently have 255's on mine and plan to move up to 275's when my tires get older.

Transmission issues
I've had my '16 MDX for a little over a year now and have had transmission issues since day one. I questioned my salesman about it immediately and was told that others are having issues too and that it'll get better with time driving it as it learns your driving patrerns. Also said their would be a software update eventually. The issues I've experienced are the same as others have reported the jerkiness, the hesitation, etc. I checked periodically if a software update has come out and was told no. So then a couple weeks ago I talked to a service tech at my dealer and he told me that there was a software update and to get it done next time I bring my car in. I contacted my dealer service department and there was a software update and it had been out for months. I asked wouldn't you just do the update automatically and they said they were just doing the update to customers that asked for it. So, I had a software update done to it last week and at first it fixed it but it's gone back to having some issues. I emailed Acura Client relations and got a call from them today. They are going to call my dealer and ask them questions and I'll end up having to bring my car in obviously. They will make a determination if the car is driving as designed or if there is an issue. If they determine there's an issue they will fix/replace whatever they need to under warranty. Let's see what Acura ends up doing. A $50,000 car should drive smooth.

If you like it that's what all matters. You bought the car you can modify it the way you want. Way to go.
Personally I wouldn't put anything like that on my car, but that's just me. .

Those look amazing. Im looking into something with a wider stance the factory rims are quite frankly a little skinny for my taste. I don't see many mdx's with upgraded wheels/tires. Thanks for the inspiration.

If you like it that’s what matters! Personally not a fan of any wheels > 19” on SUVs but you were already above that to begin with.
I think the MDX needs wider tires not bigger wheels.
