RDX suspension and steering feel

RDX suspension and steering feel
I drive 30k+ for work, and need a comfortable car. Have always used Maximas, but would now like a small SUV as it will also support my cycling. I do have a 370Z and old F250 for other duties.
Japanese reliability and decent gas mileage, are a must.
Adaptive cruise and lane centering are not must haves, but got right to the top of the list.
The RDX seems to fit that bill, but after test driving one I was a but disappointed by the ride quality and the "loose" steering. Although it isn't an X5, I'd like something a little tighter.
The MDX SH AWD with IDS appeared to drive much better, but is larger than I need. I'm basically buying something I don't need.
Is there an "easy" aftermarket remedy to this feel, or is the vehicle simply not as "sporty" as the MDX?

I can relate to your comments on the ride quality of the RDX.
When driving my wife’s RDX it does have a slightly ponderous bouncy castle type feel.
It is however very quiet comfortable and extremely reliable.
Maybe having an old Honda V6 engined Saturn Vue, lowered with upgraded light weight wheels, 255255/50R18 tires and a GS Corvette for comparison skews my view somewhat.
At least as to how quiet and comfortable the RDX is!
There is a custom spring “Lowered 2018 FWD Tech” posting in the 2G RDX Wheels and Tires section.
Adding wider light-weight rims to mount 255/50R18 tires with more braking and handling potential might also help.

Test drove a 17 back to back with a MDX again yesterday, although I don't recall what year the MDX was.
Didn't feel as "bad" as last time. The steering didn't seem to be "over assisted" and had more feel. Went on a bumpy curvy road, and it was tolerable.
Did the suspension change over the different model years, or was it all just cosmetics?
