I am reading this thread and wondering where the build is?

Plastidipped wheels (don't match well with that gray in my opinion), stickers over your fogs, and an ebay sti lip?

oh and $200 lowering springs...

That might sound good for your integra...but a brand new 2013 Acura? come on.

By the way, if you are getting wheel spacers, 25mm would be the the set to buy from Ichiba, they come with pressed lugs already installed and you won't have to grind off your stock lugs. anything less than 25mm will most likely require you to install extended lugs in place of your OEM ones. Anything more than 8mm spacers will require extended lugs. Also PLEASE don't forget to NOT use aftermarket lugs on OEM wheels.

good luck and sorry if I sound harsh but I read this whole thread looking for a build and was a little disappointed

Maybe if you had actually read the first couple posts youd see the car is leased and I explained it will be a very slow build until the lease is up. As well not much is available for these cars. Ill take my time and buy the best parts I can instead of the first part available. May work for someone with money but a 25 year old working 80+ hour weeks to just make living manageable; its hard ti just throw money at a leased vehicle I dont fully own yet.

And for some enlightenment. H&R makes 15mm spacers that wont require any further modding. The 10mm you need extended studs.

Your post was harsh, sorry if mine wasnt any more pleasant.

I am the same age as you, and I would advise to you that saving your money and enjoying the OEM goodness of the car while you are "renting" it would help more. If anything were to happen, you wouldn't be out any money on your car.

And yes HR makes spacers too, what I am telling you is that on your stock studs, you could run a max of 8mm spacers and still have enough safe thread to attach your wheels. Anything more would require extended studs. The best bet for the fitment you seek is the 25mm, it already has lugs pressed into it, PLUS you don't have to shave or cut your stock studs.

And youre not listening to me.
H&R makes 15mm drm spacers. Drm spacers have studs pressed in and dont require you to shave down your existing studs if your existing wheels have space for them. I can go 15, 20, and 25mm without further modding.
Also I wouldnt suggest the use of any spacer on stock studs that still use the oe studs. Even 8mm is 8mm less thread holding the lug in place. When most people dont use a torque wrench, me not being one of them, the more thread the better.

And age doesnt mean anything when 18 year olds live on their own in some places and 32 year olds with their mommies in another.

And saving my money is exactly what I am doing not only for my car. Tattoos currently in progress. Firearms on layaway and being built. A new home. I plan on keeping my ilx as stock as possible for a while; but the need to customize it will win in time.

If you agree on me saving my money why come here and bitch about my build being insignificant?

I like your front lip. If you can give me more details on it I would appreciate it. I might want to see if I can fit it on my 2012 TL as pictured below. Help make it look better since we don't get the full lip with the aspec kit. Can you give me some dimension measurements so I can see if it would work?

Nice car man. Good job.

Gaaah. Love the TL. Looks like a fuckin tank! Haha Either that or the ilx for me and the ilx was more in my budget.

Right now I cant help ya cause at work all day. When I get a chance I can measure it but I tweaked it a bit to fit.
Id I were you id look up the tl wheel base length the ilx wheel base and the sti wheel base length. Tsx and rsx owners have done the same. See what their wheel base is and if yours is similar itll work.

Thanks man. Please get me those #'s. I am going to measure across my bumper and see the width and I will let you know on that one too. Can't do that till later tonight myself due to work. My car is lowered already a pretty good amount, and the front still looks high because of the way the bumper was designed. This will help make it look lower.

It definitely will. Itll probably look better on your car too because of the more rounded look.

I grabbed a tape measure on my lunch and checked it out. It's roughly 5 1/3in
But again, I tweaked it a bit so if your car is around there you should be able to make it work. It'll take some messing with the mounting points and you may have to make a few of your own.

How many feet across is it from passenger side to driver side? 5 1/3" from what to what?

Or do you mean 5 feet 1/3 inches?

Yeah 5 1/3ft... or 5feet 4inches lol. Sorry
I measured that from the left to right side of the lip.
I secured one side of the lip then had tp squeeze the sides together a bit to get it to fit perfect length wise so I think the lip laid out is probably a bit longer than how I have it mounted. Not much though... like an inch or two.

Awesome. Any pictures you can put in the picture section or maybe where users were talking about doing custom exit exhausts?

Hope you don't have to trade your ILX in for any reason like a recall or any servicing. It would suck to have to pay for the damage done to the rear bumper.

I would be interested to see the Dual Exhaust as well as I am in the process of finishing mine and it's not as easy to just cut the bumper and weld the muffler in.

I had to take a butane torch and heat the spare tire well up and then use a hydralic jack and a 2x4 to press the tire well out of the way 2 inches in order to have the room for the tip to sit flush against the rear lip.

Actually, I think Imm be attempting a custom rear exist exhaust.
hahaha JK JK

Still not sure if I care to run spacers before picking up new wheels. I plan on using my tax return for wheels so those wont be until Feb-March.

I want to get a downpipe and intake done before then... might do spacers as well as some further suspension work like a rear sway bar. Not sure on the quality of bushing acura used with the ILX but Ill probably opt to swap those out as well.

A cosmetic change or two before the year ends to take my car further away from the 2.0/2.4 premium/tech look. And may do a exhaust but I wont be cutting into the bumper any time soon.

Is your front plate off or did you edit it out? I'm taking mine off! Probably have to deal with the holes. :-(

Took it off. Only two holes. I guess the pixel noise blended them in in that shot. You can see them in others.

UsdmJon,

I need more info on the Sti splitter install.
Could you take some pics of the mounting spots on the under side of the Sti splitter? Did you have to drill holes to the bottom of your bumper to install the splitter? This, and Eibach/Tein springs, might just be my next mods.

Thanks in advance!

You can utilize 4 oem mounts but they are plastic tabs so Im not sure how secure they are. You can use brackets from home depot or another hardware store or drill straight into the bumper. If you drill into the bumper I suggest putting a hole first so the screw doesnt crack anything. I only used 2 of the sti lips mounting points and drilled straight into the lip.

Its pretty much a jerry rigged set up. Just gotta mess with what youve got. Easiest route is to drill straight into the bumper. Thats what most people are doing.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to get one to test-fit on my car with the OEM bodykit, although I'm guessing it might not fit.

Took mine off today. Two holes, also. I'm hoping that when they install the ClearBra, next week, that it they won't show up as much.

Im going to go out on a limb and say you'll be able to see through a clear bra.

If its the 3m protective film then yes youll see through it. Not only that but itll pick up any and all dust and dirt. In time those two black holes will turn into two brown spots of dirt.

Hey Jon I'm really thinking about that lip, it looks sick but my car is leased. I have been reading this thread but want to know did you actually drill into your bumper to secure the lip? Sorry if I, being dense I just don't know if I want to put holes in my leased car. Thanks for your help

I did. You can get away with only 1 in the very front. I did 3 I believe and 2 stock mounting points. Id suggest at least 3.

Ok thanks a lot. Your ilx is leased also right? Are you worried Acura will make you pay for a new bumper for the holes when you turn it in?
