2017 ILX Oil Leak

Have anybody had an oil leak.... Was told it's caused by somebody driving over something or over a hole damaging the oil filter?

well, what is it exactly????

if it is indeed physical damage, then the driver is at fault...
if it's something else, then it could be any sort of seals failing, an incompetent mechanic, etc. etc...

someone will need to verify what exactly is damaged.

How can it be the drivers fault if the cover protects the oil filter. I can't imagine the filter to be openly exposed. Its unclear of what's the physical damage, but the car is a 2017 with @ 20k and certified. This happened within 4 days of ownership.......no damage noticable undercarriage as the tow driver couldn't see where because of splash cover intact.

I'm not accusing you!
I'm just going off what your post said...your dealership said it looked like physical damage. and UNTIL you can get someone to verify what is leaking, we're just going by he said she said.

Yea, your post is not very specific of your oil leak problem. Hard to give you any advice based on what youre telling us. Is it a severe leak? Small leak? Something happened to cause it. Physical damage to cause an oil leak would be very visible and easy to spot. The ILX is a pretty well built car in my opinion and you dont hear much of leaks randomly accruing unless its something very random problem caused by human error.

2014 ILX with oil leaks. First oil pan resealed with hondabond. Then 6000 miles later they say intake cover is leaking and needs to be resealed. Another mechanic mentioned multiple leaks may be from a bad PCV valve.
