Yeah it was Russell from what I posted at the NFL thread.

Just saw Brewers clinched their division thanks to Ex-Marlin Yelich

They clinched the WIld Card but we still have a huge home stand against Detroit that we need a sweep or at least take the series and get some help from the Cards. I am the biggest St. Louis fan at the moment.

Cubs back in the dance. Let's see if they can make some noise...the pitching is suspect as is the bullpen now that their closer is done.

Did the Marlins get much for Yelich? I don't remember...I don't recall him being THAT good...or was he just buried in a quiet market in Miami so no one knew?

They got 4 prospects for him. 2 OF, 1 IF, 1 RHP.

I think you had mentioned about what the precedence was? I think we can look at the suspensions doled out to Chapman and Osuna as indicators.

But, Russell is finished as a Cub, I don't see how they'll bring him back. He's still a good SS/2B so, we'll see if a team will take a flyer on him sometime later if he's reinstated? Dunno. Given the #metoo movement, having this sort of player on a team could be toxic.

Yeah. Dunno. If he had no talent and ability, probably done...but, Russell is pretty good. So, chances are, he'll land somewhere. Just not a Cubs uniform, I would wager.

Yeah Brinson is supposed to be the 5 tool stud. So far not showing much but Marlins can't possibly do a worse trade than the Miguel Cabrera trade for nothing that performed here.

So there was two game 163's because of ties? That's amazing. Has that ever happened?

I was rooting for the Yankees since NY has become my 2nd home. This was my first baseball that I watched this year but only like 3 innings. Mind you I was at a Marlins game this year but in the bar/club. But Jesus baseball. I turn on the game at 9 it's in the 3rd inning. I watch a few 1-2-3 innings and then fall asleep for like 30 mins. I turn off the TV at 10 and it's the bottom of the fifth. 3 innings an hour?

I actually watched from the 5th inning until the end of the game. I'm on the west coast, but, it still ended around 9. My kids were watching it too and I'm like it's time for you guys to go to bed, but they wanted to watch it until the end.

Welp. If the sorry ass Marlins can sell for a billion, small market owners know what to do.

Ticket prices are getting a little crazy. I'd love to go to a game but don't feel like dropping $750/ticket for decent seats.

Brewers winning it all... To go from a team that looked like it had zero chance to start to a team that is firing on all cylinders has been a fun season. Hate for it to end short of a Championship. Either Hou/Bos will be a tough series but lets get thru LA first.

Yankees think HRs win in the playoffs, huh? Keep swinging for those fences, NYY.

Cubs, they could not hit a beach ball if tossed at them at 5mph.

That's why they out.
