Essentially, it's a full book of what you can and cannot eat during those 90 days. So to say it's just an exercise program is false to say the least.

...but I'm sure you already knew that.

I still think the zone diet and paleo diet is more efficient than what the p90 diet prescribes.

Whoever marketed this workout is a genius. All kinds of people are telling me they're going to try this regimen.

well, it's not just a marketing ploy, it works - IF you stick to it - ALL of it - for the full 90 days.
But yes, their 30-60 minute infomercials are well produced and are making them millions of $$. This company has been at it for a l-o-n-g time with several other successful home workout routines, so they definitely know what they're doing.

Just like is300 said. P90X, crossfit, boot camp, whatever activity/diet you can do WILL work. P90X marketing is great because it properly spoon feeds it to the masses. A lot of people (nobody here sinze AZers are da bomb) don't know how to properly research nutrition, diet, exercise, etc so P90X does it all for them in a tidy little package with a big red bow on top.

...when I worked at Costco a long time ago (the first time), it was during the hot Southern California summer. First couple weeks on the job, they had me pushing carts everyday. I'd go to work everyday hoping they would bring me inside. Then one day, one of the employees that had been there awhile told me to expect to be on carts duty for a long time. I was kinda pissed to hear... So, I decided after a couple weeks to take advantage of this... so I got on a strict diet... I, literally made it a workout. I went to Home Depot and made my own rope that would allow me to push or pull 30+ carts. They're policy was (and still is), no more than 10 carts at a time... but when I was off to the side of the building, and the supervisors couldn't see me, I'd bust out the longer rope and was doing 30+ carts back and forth...

why am I sharing this store?

...because, after 2 months... I got soooooooooo freakin' lean (and tan).

Do you guys get the point? Or do I really have to explain this in fuller details?

well, my point is... this program WILL work, if you stick with it... but that goes for ANY program... like my own program with the Costco job.

...and I got paid for it

I always have this inside joke about someday, I'm gonna start a "fat farm" business... Where people pay me to help them lose weight, at the same time, I'd provide Costco cart pushers. So instead of them paying employees $11/hour to push carts, they'd pay me at a much less than $11/hour for the service. Saves them labor and I get paid from both ends lol

You mean actually watching what you eat and exercising one hour a day, everyday for 90 days will net you results?!?!

It's definitely not an "easy" program, and I don't know your fitness level, but they are offering a 90 day money back guarantee via their site...

http://www.beachbody.com/product/fit...ode=P90XDOTCOM

Try it out, if you feel like it's not working for you send it back

We get it, we get it... But that was your job and, if I'm not mistaken your current job is completely centered around fitness, so your situation is much easier to work with.

I, on the other hand, sit behind a desk 10-12 hours a day where I can't make a cute little fitness game out of it. I need a plan that I don't need to think much about when I get out of the office, and I don't have $100's/mos. to spend on a trainer either who's schedule I have to work around. So, this seemed to fit my needs best, and so far, no complaints.

There have plenty of 90-day, hell, even 120-day spans in my life in which I watched what I ate and exercised everyday, but I never lost 30 lbs. doing it.
And you're right, this is not ground breaking stuff, I've simply never seen this type of workout packaged in a way that I can bring it home, open the box and get going.
I'm not saying this is the end-all, be-all of workout routines - In fact, I know it's not - but I'm just saying that THIS PARTICULAR workout worked very well for me. Better than others I have tried in the past. If something else works just as well or even better for you, that's awesome, start another thread about it then. But this thread is about P90X. Someone simply asked if it's legit, and I offered my .

LOL bg. Nobody's ragging on you or P90X. We're just marveling how it's marketed. If I ever get sick of crossfit (I doubt it) then I'd probably go to P90X. I work out at home and like you am budget conscious. Personally even if I was rich I wouldn't go to the big gyms. If you lost 30lbs and got in great shape then mad props. One less obese guy blocking my view of the world.

No ones denying that P90x works. It works, with the caveat that you really stick to their diet and push yourself each work out.

Point is - if you stick to a diet and workout hard most exercise programs will yield positive results.

Alright guys, sorry for the delay...

Here are the pictures, and honestly not to huge of a difference if any at all..
I know the reason is definitely my diet, even though I have went from 2-3 big meals a day to 4-5 smaller meals. I need to cut back on bread, rice, and alcohol.

I'm going to try and finish strong with the last 30 days. When I get money, I'll be buying some sort of nutritional bar (I do not have time in the mornings to eat a proper meal, or in the afternoon because of school).

Lastly I'll be buying the p90x recovery drink, which should help keep me lean and give me energy after my workouts.

I notice a difference from my day one appearance, and a few people have mentioned that I've "slimmed up" a bit...

Yep definitely slimming down.

Grats on making it 60 days. Most ppl quit after the first 30-45.

Also try sticking to the diet. I had a friend who did the first 70 of 90 days without really watching her diet. She definitely looked slimmer, but she said she didn't lose all that much weight (maybe like 5-8 lbs?).

For the last 20 days, she decided to follow the P90x nutritional guide strictly. In the last 20 days, she lost 12 lbs.

I don't cook, and I can't ask my dad. Not to mention lack of time and the fact that eating healthier is expensive (broke college kid).

I saw this in my Men's Fitness magazine, figured I'd check AZ. Glad this is working out for you man! I think I might try this....

I got my "office" job a little over a year ago and have gained a few pounds. I'm 6'4, about 250lb, getting to be a little thicker than I planned on...I'd like to lose 30-40 pounds and tone it down.

I think I might really try this out!

Thanks man! You should definitely give it a try, with the money back guarantee (check p90x.com for duration of guarantee) I don't see what you have to lose.

30-40lbs might be a stretch... however what you're really loosing is body fat. So even though the scale might only say, hypothetically, "235lbs" by the end of the 90 days you'll have dropped much needed body fat, which is what shows the most in my opinion.

Best of luck, and definitely keep us posted.

It should be doable. I've been looking into this all day, I'm going to start running/training to do the P90x and will hopefully start it around October 1st.

Good thing I'm moving into a condo, my downstairs neighbors wouldn't want to witness this.

Also, do I need weights, etc? Thoughts?

I didn't know there was a 4-disc set - do you happen to know what those 4 disks cover?

I mentioned all the "stuff" I use to get through the routine earlier and it's really I needed. Yes, you will need weights, but only a very basic set like I have below.

you need to devote one FULL hour a day, maybe even a little more, six days a week.

Equipment you should have:

- Pull-up bar (PowerBands can be a substitute)
- Weights - dumb bells ranging from 10 to 40 lbs., depending on the type of workout you're looking for (powerbands can also be a substitute here)

That's really about it unless you have bad wrists and need push-up bars as well. You will be doing a LOT of push-ups.

Honestly, I only have 10, 20 and 30 lbs. dumb bell sets - that's it - and I get through all the exercises just fine. I don't have powerbands, my wrists are fine, so I just do regular push-ups, and I just do all of my pull ups from the rafters in my basement.

You may want to get a yoga mat or something if you're going to be working out on a concrete or similarly hard floor, you spend a lot of time on the ground. I use my wife's pink yoga mat.

Well guys, a rather lame last thirty days. I basically did the first two weeks, then a bunch of different things came up. And I know, how hard is it to set aside an hour a day to work out...

I'll still post pics and final weight + body fat when I get a chance.

In a week or two, I'll start a new round of P90x. This time being harder on myself to follow the meal plan and to do more cardio.
