My Weight Loss Progress (So far) Pics

OK, so in September I decided to get in shape. in the first pic (Taken in Sept.) I weighed 240 lbs, waste size was 38.

The second pic was taken this past sunday. In the past 8 Months, I've lost 70 pounds to get to 170 pounds and am now down to a 34 waste.

Before:

After:

I figure I have about 15-20 more pounds to lose for my weight loss to be complete. I feel so much better.

Anyway, that is all.

I took a very simple approach to it all. I didn't do any special diets, I didnt use fat burners, and I didn't buy any gimmick excercise equipment.

Once I decided I wanted to change, I realized that if I changed too much too fast, I'd crash and give up. So the first thing I did was change my diet. Before I started, I tracked my caloric intake for a few days and I averaged out to 7000 calories a day! So I started counting calories, statying around 3000. I just worked my way down slowly, and now I eat roughly 1500 calories a day.

Once I had a handle on the eating part, I started doing excercising. mainly cardio, but some light lifting.

my routine now is cardio 3-4 days a week, and just eating healthy. When I lose about 20 more pounds, I would like to start a good lifting routine.

Holy sweet god!!!

Good job taking it a step at a time rather than trying to go right to the 1500 cal a day.

I lost a lot of weight over years as well. I was at 238.5lbs with a waist at 42 (5'10"). Now close to 180. When I mention that I still have 20-25lbs, people react like "are you crazy"?

I won't be satisfied until I see my chiseled ribs and probably have a 32 waist. With the actual rate for the last 3months, It will be done by the end of this year.

Wow, it's been almost 8 years since I started losing weight. Figure it's time for an update. So I ended up losing that extra 15 pounds, and I'm now about 155. (and a 30 waste). In total, it took about a year to lose the weight (85 pounds). In the 8 years since, I have never been more than 160. Crazy what a little portion control and exercise can do... Now I can't even imagine weighing 170 anymore...

Awesome! Like I tell everyone, fitness and taking care of your body isn't just a temporary thing just to look good, it has to be a lifelong effort. But when you eat right and exercise, your body really appreciates it.

Good job, the most impressive part is sticking with it. In my late teens I was approx 230 and got to 158, then soon enough I wound up at 285. At 211 currently and my promise to myself now is once I'm under 200 to never go over again.

Wow, must be extra tough losing the weight, then gaining it (and more) back. Seems daunting to basically lose the weight all over again, but it looks like you're on track! keep it up!!

4 years since my last update, 12 years overall since I lost a bunch of weight.

Summary is: Still skinny, still about 155 pounds.

I eat whatever I want, but in reasonable portions. I exercise now also (Insantiy mostly).

I was originally concerned given the way I lost the weight in the first place (Extreme dieting and gym for 1 year straight), that I'd gain it back but happy I've kept it off. I'm still at a 31 waste (Down from a 38-40), and my suit jacket size is a 36s (Down from a 42s (Almost a 44s)
