Another one yesterday - between the fact that I've still been doing crazy hours at work, and that I'd spent the morning in the sun at my son's baseball game, I guess it was no big surprise.

Sucks guys and girls. I obviously don't miss these, but if mine went away (for the most part), hopefully yours will too one day.

What do you all do if you're in public and a really bad one comes on? Like at work, or far from a place you could lay down? Just power through it I guess, or do you always keep medicine on you?

Typically, I have some warning that it's coming, but yes - powering through is pretty much it until the meds take effect. Sometimes they work better than others.

I usually keep meds on me. But, working through it tends to be the strategy once I've taken my meds.

Diet doesn't seem to be one of my triggers, but I know it is for a lot of other people.

It doesn't seem to be for me, either. Other than alcohol, which is more of a toxin.

I should clarify one point: If "diet" also includes blood-sugar, then - yes, diet does affect me. But, in terms, of what I actually eat - no.

i have them daily, with medicine barely just taking the edge off, so yea, i just kinda power through it. when i was diagnosed in third grade, i was told by my doctor "theres nothing that can be done, just live with it" kind of thing. most people can't even tell that i have a migraine. girl i was close with a while ago had them too, and so did her sister, and her sister could usually tell. i hated it, i hate when people can tell theres something wrong because i hate pity. my more severe ones with i have only several times a month are more debilitating, but i power through those too. i have had to pull over while driving due t extreme pressure on my eyes and it being difficult to see. prom weekend i also got the blurry vision and couldn't walk straight. as i tried to get away from everyone, i was stumbling around the motel. people just thought i was drunk, but i don't drink anymore

Two this weekend...woke up with one on Saturday morning (never had that happen before), and had one just before I went to bed on Sunday night. Not a great way to bookend the weekend.

T, sounds like you have a medical condition that only speed will cure.

I also had two this weekend. I had plenty of reasons, though, between the stress of moving, very little sleep, severe heat, and the derecho that came through. I'd have been more surprised if I hadn't had at least one. Thankfully, both were very responsive to medication.

So, it had been several months since I'd had a migraine and then I got hit out of the blue on Friday at lunch. The morning had been strange, physically, as I couldn't seem to get enough to eat and my hands were shaking by the time I got to lunch. While there, I happened to look outside of the restaurant and caught a glimpse of light bouncing off the hood of a car and BAM! On came the flashing lights and the migraine a little later.

The real bummer about this one, though, was that it seemed to last all through the weekend. While the pain decreased some, it just never seemed to go away.

Just the off chance.. what are the allergens in your area right now? They are off the chart around here for the past few weeks.. 17,700 parts per cubic meter for cedar and mold.. many co-workers have reported migraines (not sinus headaches).

Actually, good question. We did have some high pollution days recently. I'd have to go back and look and see how they correspond to my migraine, if at all.

Interesting. I had an excellent multi-month stretch with no Relpax, then recently got whammied with one that lasted two days, also. Suuuuucked. It echoed for days after. I thought maybe it was due to all the crazy pressure and weather changes we've had in the past couple of weeks, but my allergies have been flaring, too. Who knows?

Vacation? There's an interesting idea...literally haven't had one of those in a couple of years.

Ever try Migrelief?
My daughter uses it, and it helps some.

I've never heard of it. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the tip.
