A lot of times people place the bar on their neck which is just too damn high or even on the bone which hurts. You don't need the pussy pad for this. I like the bar above my delts but under my traps. I don't have any rear shots but I guess check my vid (sorry)

Yep, that's where I'd like to hold the bar... but can't. Sad face.

So when you have it where I have it, it hurts your delts? Did you play with elbow angle?

Nice job! I gotta push myself, you're catching up This isn't my current max but I haven't tested in a while. My deadlift is embarrassingly higher. I need to get my squat up. I hit the 405 for reps on the dead and hit a 545 max last week. But I get so damn scared with the squats even with the safeties.

Down to 171 this morning. Macros were readjusted for slightly lower carb intake for this week. We'll see if it accelerates weight loss without making me feel like shit.

I literally can't move my arms back enough to hold the bar behind my head Doesn't hurt delts at all.. the only thing that hurts is when I try doing it and the bar ends up ramming into the highest vertabra in my neck. I just don't have the mobility. As I'm moving my arms back (pretending to hold a bar), I get to about vertically parallel with the rest of my body and it's like I hit a wall. I can't physically move any further back. I don't know if it is related to rotator cuff, or something else altogether, but yeah... it's just not happening.

When you squat you're kind of like this <. Your back might be a little more erect but you don't need to squat L where your back is straight up. You'll never get deep enough unless you're a flexible Olympian. You need to post a video. The Mountain is taller than you and much thicker and hits it.

Maybe so, but he hasn't suffered ~50+ shoulder dislocations over the years, from about 2005-2010... it's nothing that I'm doing wrong. My shoulders just cannot move as necessary. No amount of anything has resulted in increased movement in my shoulder joints. You should see me throw a baseball... I throw like a girl these days because I can't wind my arm back like everyone else.

I'm reconsidering physiotherapy... I get the feeling a therapist would be able to help me out tremendously, over a period of time... it's just a matter of doing it. I hate physiotherapy

If you sit on your ass long enough, it'll hurt, then not.

Yeah this. My mantra is "Safety first". Sure I could've pushed an extra rep but I need my back.

Welp, my 12 weeks are up. I went from a starting weight of 175.1 to 166.4. Not quite my goal weight but I'm certainly going to keep going. I lost ~3" from my waist and started to get visible abs. Looking forward to maintaining the lifestyle!

Fuck yeah, mang! Good job!!!!

Just stick to it- it's totally fine you didn't hit your goal. It's more important that you made lifestyle changes and you continue them, as opposed to losing x amount of pounds in x amount of time.

Shiiiet, think where you can be a year from now! Mad props for the progress you've made so far. Sounds easy... But it's not!

Thanks dudes! I went to see the doc the other day and found that I've lost 22lbs since the last time I went to see him. He was impressed.

A year ago I could barely button this shirt up so the wife tried to sell it in our garage sale for like $5. Now she still needs to try and sell it but for a very different reason...

Nice job! Dieting is by far the hardest part for me. I genuinely enjoy going to the gym. I'll go even if I'm slightly hungover, and I'll even plan my day around going to the gym sometimes.

Grocery shopping, meal prepping, cooking, and eating healthy though... ugh.

Update. Now down to 160lbs. My initial goal was 165 but now I'm not really sure where to go...

Maybe get one of those meal delivery services? There's lots of healthy meal services which will send you ingredients that fit with you diet. Vegan, Paleo, Keto, etc. They're all over my instagram ads. I signed up for butcher box which sends me 8-12lbs of meat every month for $130. Not sure if I'll stick with it but it's cheaper than Blue Apron which was $60/week. Butcher Box has a service that lets you pick exactly which meats you get every week instead of them choosing for you. Though even if they choose which meat to send you still can specify beef, chicken, pork, lamb. you can find coupon codes for Butcher Box around which will give you some free pork sausage, bacon, and $20 off your order

Another good choice I've found is Lets Dish if you have them in your area. It's a sorta pre-made thing where you just go into the store and assemble your meals. Then, when ready, you take it out of the freezer and follow the short directions to make it. The portion sizes are good and the food is actually pretty decent. I've only had 1-2 meals out of the many I've had that I didn't like. Menu changes monthly and does differ from location to location so YMMV.

Let's Dish isn't available where I'm at. Haven't heard of Butcher Box either, might try it out. Blue Apron was way too expensive, they get the shopping out of the way but it's almost as expensive as me eating out every single day. I also eat huge portions, BA is just not enough. Their food was kinda bland too. I did lose weight when I tried them out, partially because I wasn't eating junk out of convenience.

I am actually trying to gain weight, yet spend relatively less on food. I do make conscientious choices about what I buy and eat every day. I look at the ingredients before I purchase something prepackaged, if it has some shit that I can't easily pronounce or visually identify, I usually avoid it.

Have you looked into meal replacement shakes such as Soylent Green and the like?

Honestly, if you're looking to consume more for less, you should hit up your namesake...Costco.

Gaining lean weight is a balance of upping your protein and fat intake while balancing out your carb requirements. Long story short, eat a fuck ton more chicken breast.

Anyone ever try Soylent in here? There was a deal on slickdeals the other week ( i know.. ) so I bought a 12 pack.. Decided I'll use it as a meal replacement (breakfast or something) due to its high protein count but didn't realize how fatty it was as well.. I drank it this morning and basically tasted like drinking half oil.. I had it as breakfast before my morning gym sesh but wondering if this would be a good meal replacement to try and cut some fat before my wedding in 2 months.

Any thoughts? (I'm all for real protein (i.e. chicken, etc.) over stuff like this and can't do whey due to being lactose intolerant.. Plant protein has been a godsend and I try to have a shake before gymming as well. I'm pretty active but I"m thinking to shed the last of the belly fat, it's time to turn to dieting.
