I officially met Pukie this morning.

This was our workout.

W/U:
21-15-9 of squats, ring-row, pushups

3 of us rotating through
Workout:
5 rounds of
Max reps of 60kg bench press
.2 mile bike at level 18 (Max level was 20)

Into the bathroom to puke

Back out for 50 Ab Mat situps.

I would not care if I ever met him again. That sucked. Lactate buildup in the legs sucks!

glad to see you guys kept this thread going while I was away. I just got back from 2 weeks in Europe and can't wait to hit a WOD. While I was away my roommate got the rings mounted in our garage the way we wanted. Check it out...

the chains just make good mounting spots for the straps. We wanted to spread the load over a couple rafters, so the chains do that and get the rings in the middle of the hole.

thanks. It's kinda ghetto right now, but it gets the job done. We'll probably throw some trim up around the edges to make it a little more finished looking.

Fight Gone Bad 2 today for the Athlete's for a Cure Prostate Cancer foundation.

I don't know what the deal is, but I sucked big time today. 225 total. I'm normally in the 260 range. I don't know what happened. I know my push press is usually in the 20 rep range each round, and this time I was at 12-15?????

we all have our bad days...

Since I got back from vacation I started CF a week behind, that way I always know what's coming next. So I did the 30 MUs from last sunday, did them in 24 min. That is by far the most MUs I've ever done, got a nice dime size piece of skin ripped off my right palm around 25, made those last 5 a real bear.

still out due to shoulder injury... I have an appt with an orthopedist scheduled for the 16th, but I'm going to have to call tomorrow to see if there's any way I can get it pushed up... I can't wait that long. I feel like I haven't done a thing since the injury even though I've done some running/biking here and there. CF misses me and I, she.

Ya we had a great turnout. I think I know what was different on Saturday. For one we were using new boxes for jumping on that were 4" higher than we used to use. So that was one. Second, I need to start on the push press next time. That's my money station so I definitely need to start there. At least I have a good baseline now. My new goal is 300.

That's awesome. I wish I could say the same. I've got some better definition in my arms, but my mid-section is a lost cause. I can't keep my diet clean enough to get the abs I want.

I was pretty cised to finally be able to do today's workout (since it's not arm involved) and I ended up coming home from the orthopedist and I think fractured my toe on the wall while playing with my dog. Why me?

In other good news however, the doc told me the shoulder/collar injury was just basically an inflamation and not a shoulder separation as I first thought. He said it should be back to 100% in time.

But now I have another ~8 weeks for this fuggin toe to heal. I can barely walk.

Keep it taped up really good, that should help. I hurt mine really bad last thanksgiving playing hide-and-go-seek in the dark. I sprinted straight into a 3 ft. wall of railroad ties it hurt pretty bad for a week or so, but healed quickly. I never had it looked at tho, so I don't know if it was really broken or not.

Nice one.

That's not quite as bad as one guy on a training op we were on back when I was in the Corps. We were doing some night training with NVG's. Only a couple of the team leads had them. We came to a stop at a dirt road that "Y'd". The lead guy was told to sprint across to the other side and cover out crossing. He took off and ran right into a pile of constantina wire. We got to him and he was laid out right in the middle of this pile. I don't know how he didn't get all cut up, but he ended up with only a few scratches......

The toe's getting much better pretty quick actually. It's been almost a week and I'm almost walking normally now. Just have to see when I can start putting more pressure and it and what not. It's been more than 2 months probably since my last CF workout with the shoulder injury then this. Argh.

wow 2 months? Sounds like you're keeping your motivation up at least. I know I always had trouble getting back in to working out if I stopped for a while. Good luck healing quickly

"Fran" today.

My first time running through and I managed 10:23. Guess I have a new goal now of sub 10 min. We have a guy named Micky that can run her in 2:49!
Amazing.

Fran used to scare me... until I did 2 workouts last week and the week before with 75 total 95# thrusters. I think I can handle 45 now. I won't be sub 5 anytime soon, but I'm a lot less nervous about her.

you'll do much better next time with a time to beat.

Yup. Now that I have something to shoot for....

I need to run Helen again too. I actually like that one. I think I'm aiming for sub 12min with her.

nice! You'll enjoy those. I love my rings, they're just so versatile. By far the best piece of equipment you can buy for the money.

That's still really good. I just did it last week and got 15 . It was an improvement over my last time of 17, but still really slow. My excuses are I still suck at pull ups, I'm improving, but when i'm doing more than just pull ups I don't have hardly any endurance. And my runs are up and down a hill and back, so they're a bit tougher than a flat 400m, they really kill me.

just checked the elevation change of my run on mapmyrun.com. There's about a 40 ft. incline up the hill for the first 100m or so, then a 60 ft. decline for the next 100m, then I run back up the 60ft. incline and down the 40 decline again.

Man I got hit with some nasty stomach virus the last few days that had me out of commission for a while. I'm just now getting back on my feet and getting an appetite back. I dropped a few pounds over the last few days because of it...

haha yes, I did. Pretty provocative for them. There's always some uber conservatives who complain about language and stuff so I'm sure they'll get some feedback about that.

Hey Danny,

I just bought a pair of rings from seattlemarine.net, but they don't come with straps. I bought a 1" nylon strap from a local outdoor store, but I'm at a dead end trying to find a buckle or a way to secure the nylon around the ring. In other words, a way to secure the two ends together around something. I don't want to knot it, I want to be able to adjust the length of the nylon so I can move the rings around to different spots.

Any ideas?

i'll take a picture of the buckles that I have on my straps. I would imagine you'd be able to find something similar at a hardware store.

did a little search for the heck of it and found exactly what you need. This looks almost exactly like the spring buckle that came with my straps.

Here's a page with more choices. http://www.strapworks.com/High_Quality_s/28.htm

Danny,

Thanks for finding the buckle for me. The only issue I have is that I have a strip of nylon strap and the ends need to be joined by a buckle securely. Usually buckles such as the ones on backpacks or any other one for that matter have one end of the strap usually anchored to it, while the other end of the strap goes into that buckle. I can't tell from the picture how this one would work since essentially it would have to lock in both ends of the strap.
