135# SDHP?!?! OUCH!
I have so far to go after watching the chipper video yesterday and seeing that guy finish in just over 12 minutes. That workout made me question life.

It's ok in a few years hopefully I can be in that shape... you saw the other people who were all in good shape just dying as they were going through it...

I would swing my legs up against a wall and then my workout partner spotted me by making sure they didn't swing forward. I think with a little practice I'll be able to stay against the wall with no spot.

Yeah, I wasn't able to do today's hang clean squat workout (my false alarm hernia), but I'll be doing the weighted pullups. Very pumped actually. yay!

false alarm? that's good.
I'm looking forward to the pullups too. I'm going to rig up some kind of belt to hang plates from.
I always love the day before rest day because I can add whatever I want to the workout and go hard knowing I have a day to recover.

that's what they're doing at your gym today? The WOD was cindy about a week or so ago, but I never got to make it up. Today's is basically the same, but 20 rounds for time, so I have to do the full 300 squats, 200 push-ups, and 100 pull-ups. The only thing I can compare too is "Murph" that I did the second day in. I better have improved a little.

lol we got the same time for the WOD?? What are the chances.
No I don't do kipping PU, I can't really do them on my PU/dip tower... but I still cheat. I do strict PUs until they start really slowing me down (about 5-6 sets in), and then I give myself a little bounce to get some momentum. I still suck at PUs, but i've definitely improved in the 3 weeks of XF.

Typical CF warmup.
400m run
15 cleans w/dowel
400m run
20 shoulder presses w/dowel
400m run
30 push presses w/dowel
400m run
40 overhead squats w/dowel
Time of 12:3x
I then did on my own 10 overhead squats with the standard bar and a 400 carry with 100lb sandbag. I managed to do the entire 400m without stopping this time while carrying the bag.

HAHAHA, that's what happens. It also affects me in social situations. I've somehow convince myself that crossfit is an appropriate conversation piece cause everyone can relate to it.
But on the real, I've started filling in my excel spreadsheet

what's a kg?
j/k I feel ya man, I throw a temper tantrum every time I do squats because I hate them so much. I just gotta suck it up and work out with the girlie weights and hope I improve.

so who ran the 5k? I gotta admit, I didn't plan well. I found a route around my neighborhood that put me right back at my house after 2.5k... well we pussed out and stopped after the first lap. Next time I'll plan it so I have to run the whole thing to get back to my house.

I not familar with WOD workouts but I noticed that when I incorparated push-up, pull-ups and dips into my strecthing routine I have gotten stronger & improved my endurance. Can you provide some links to some workouts so I can check it out.

I really didn't have time to read it indepth but WOD is continously doing a group of exercises or physical activity for a certain amount of time rather then just doing the tradition number of reps & sets. I'll have to do some more reading before I attempt some of these WOD workouts.

^ most of the time there are rep/set requirements, you just do them for time to see how fast you can complete it. Every now and then there is a "do something for 20 min" workout.

^I agree, but at the same time, my strength has increased immensely. I'm able to do a crapload more pullups/pushups/dips/etc. plus I have the strongest core of my life, etc, etc. benefits of crossfit, etc.

^I concur. We had to sub for ring dips, so instead of doing a devastating 3:1 ratio, we just did 2:1 making it 100 regular dips. then 50 pushups and 50 assisted handstand pushups. After yesterday's WOD, and today's brutal WOD, I would have skipped tomorrow's (thurs), but I'm going to bust it out subbing 3 KPU/3Dips per MU for Jason Lewis. God rest his soul.

Good lord that's 150 KPU and 150 dips. Good thing I have rings... I just can't do 50 MUs I guess I'll try to do some kind of assisted MU, hopefully that will get me closer to actually being able to do these.
