Need help assembling OEM tophat
Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of assembling the top hats and putting them on top of TEIN Street Basis coilovers for my car.
I've watched Marcus's video (from HeelToe) a few times, but his installation is specifically for a TL-S, which omits the collar.
Question: How does the collar fit into the picture? Do I shove it snug inside of both rubber bushings? Or is this piece meant to be loose? I've never taken apart or even looked at an OEM top hat, let alone shock absorber before, so this is pretty new to me.
I guess to sum it up, I want to know how I should be placing the collar into the OEM top hat assembly.
Thanks!

I think the collar fits like how I originally imagined it...
Put the collar partway through one of the rubber bushings... attach the rubber bushing to the metal plate with the collar going through the metal plate... then attach the other rubber bushing onto the other side of the metal plate, through the other end of the collar.
I guess the rubber bushings and the collar are already pre-installed in Marcus's video.
Here's the video for anyone interested: http://www.heeltoeauto.com/pitboard/?p=842 (I know... it's been posted like 10x in the TSX/TL forums)
