Lowered a wagon with KW ST's and Enkei's. Did a DIY while I was at it.

Thanks, man...
if you have the balls...evasive is running a special on 17x10 +50 all around...IIRC there's a dude selling a set in perfect condition for $1400 on s2ki...that's pretty aggressive up front though, for me. Also, they're RSII, not the discontinued RS.

10 + 50 would only "stick out" ~8mm (.32") more than 9 + 45. Someone is selling for $1400, you say? My level of intrigue is high.

I just did that very thing on an 18x9.5". No work in the front, mild roll in the rear. You wouldn't need a roll even with 9.5" but I'm planning on throwing spacers on in the rear, so I wanted to play it safe.

Not looking to roll my fenders, nor go with that wide of a rim. Not sure what your spacing is on your wheels, so don't know if it would be comparable to an 18x8.5 et38 or et 40.

I guess I misunderstood then. But use the OP's pictures as reference. If you look at how square his tires (225/45/18) are on the 18x8.5, I wouldn't go wider than that. His sit nice and flush with no fender work, so if you're looking for that, I would more or less copy those specs. The only reason I went with wider wheels and a slight stretch on the tire was to get some concavity. If you have a wheel where you don't need that, then the 18x8.5 +38/40 setup is perfect.

I think I should update to be clear.
I swapped to 245/40/18 Contiental DWs. I couldn't take the ride and noise of the Direzza Z2 anymore lol.
245's fit perfectly on a 8.5" rim. Quite a few cars come from the factory with 8.5's and 245's.
The ride and noise of the Conti's is much more tolerable. ST coilovers have a lot of low speed bump and rebound damping. Pairing them up with a softer tire is a good thing for street comfort.

Also...I am selling my ST's. They have about 5-7K miles on them. They are off the car already.
Nothing wrong with them at all. Long story as to why they are off lol.
If I had to do a very abbreviated review, I'd say that I really think they are some of the best coilovers available in terms of overall build quality, features, ride, and handling combined. They look and feel extremely heavy duty and are really built to last.
Tein SA is a great setup too. And would be a 2nd place finisher if we're considering street use coilovers between $600-900. The build quality, engineering, and handling is not quite on par with ST. BUT...I will admit that the Tein's do ride softer. At times, that can be more comfortable....but you give up a lot of handling stability.

Got it. He said "up to" so I was comparing to the first set. I guess it's pretty subjective, and since I don't know what look he's going for, I'll shut up
But I'll also vouch for the ST-X. Ive had them for about 3 months and I love them. It improved the cars handling without killing the ride. Absolutely no regrets in buying them. Someone should pick up the OP's!

Well...don't beat up the guy's dog. Just buy the coilovers to make up for it.
Lol there was someone who wanted them. But he literally had JUST ordered new ones before mine went up FS "unofficially". He couldn't cancel his order in time.
Shipping is a bit pricey pricey. Local pickup/meetup would be better.
I also put them up on Craigslist last night. The Nigerian prince has contacted me a few different times already.

Oh, I won't beat up his dog... I'm stealing her. :thief:
Those still need to use the OEM tophats, right?
I would seriously entertain buying them but it's just not the right time yet. Two years from now and they'd already be on the way to my house, but right now I just need to sit back and wave.

Everyday I'm rofling
How are you liking your DWs? I find mine tramline like crazy and it's much harder to keep the car in a straight line compared to the oem tires. They have fantastic grip though especially when it's raining. If I were do it again I wouldn't buy them...

They are great tires for daily use. The sidewalls are SO soft that they are fairly useless for response. Despite that, I really like them overall...for a quiet, comfortable tire that works well in rain.
However, I don't like how fast they wear...or the fact that they tend to cup as they wear (wtf is that all about?). They are also hideous lol.
I have Michelin Pilot SS's on my sedan. Those are much better overall. Longer lasting, way better grip, no odd wear, much better response, very little added harshness, quiet, great looks, etc. But...they also cost quite a bit more than the DW lol.
It depends on what you want the tire to do, I suppose. The SS does all of it. And its the undoubtedly ultimate sporty DD tire. But...again... $$$$$.
Kumho SPT's were surprisingly good, if you're looking for another alternative. But I can't really comment on how noisy they'd be on a TSX. I had them on my GF's S2000. With all the noises S2000's make, it'd be hard to convert that into TSX terms haha.

Hey Roland Bluntz,
So I installed my STs yesterday, and I'm having a tough time with adjusting the fronts. I had to do some serious muscling to get them even close to the minimum specs, and feels like it won't give much more at this point. Did you have the same difficulties with yours when adjusting your fronts.
I followed your DIY to the tee....

You have them way too high. That's past their "max" height spec.

You need to turn the perches down (toward the ground) if you want to lower it.
Turn the perches up (toward the sky) if you want to raise it.
I think maybe you were trying to lower it and you thought you had to turn the perches upward to do so. Your car is currently taller than stock...and it probably rides pretty badly lol.
Look in the owners manual to where the measurements are taken from. It will make it more clear. MIN relates to lowest height. MAX means maximum (tallest height).

Got it looking much better, although still fine tuning the ride height. I set up the rear and front coils at identical height, but the drop was uneven. Much better now. Will post some pics this weekend after I clean her up.
