Bump with a small update.

I've discovered I had 37psi+ in the tires, which was causing a bit of roughness. I dropped the tire pressure down to 35psi all around, set front shocks to 1 turn from soft and rear to 1/2 turn from soft. The car actually rides very nicely, I don't remember how OE felt but it isn't much rougher. I attack bumpy roads without fear and car feels compliant and not uncomfortable.

I am thinking of getting stiffer sidewall tires in the future, any suggestions on a size? Wheels are 17x8, I am considering 235/45 or maybe even 245/40s. I've almost ruled out 245/45s, and 225/45s would be a great choice but a bit too undersized. I'm thinking of Hankook RS3s or something similar, I'd LOVE to get the Yokahama AD08s, but they are $$$.

nice shot there Stan....has the front settled a bit more or is it just me or the angle?

BTW, I'm running 245/40/18s and like them (installing Eibach and Koni next week).

245/40 would be nice, will have to look into it.

I wouldn't say anything settled much. Front gap is more than rear, same as it was stock. You could lower the front 1/2", but the car would be raked too much for my taste. 1/4" -- yeah, I'd try that (could have new grooves machined on the KONIs). But, it's fine as-is for me.

The stance of the car looks great. I'm guessing it looks lower than it actually is from the new angle. The previous pictures you took showed more of a gap, as Bag said.

245/40 always gets my vote, more meat equals better ride and more rim protection, and if you're already looking at max and extreme performance summers, sidewall stiffness shouldn't be an issue.

For the price of the RS3s, how about the S04 Pole Position or Toyo R1R? Those new BFG Sport Comp2s look interesting too, but they won't be as sticky as the others I don't think. You could also wait and see if new models come out in the spring, because then the old ones will get heavily discounted. I remember when Tire Rack was blowing out the RE-01s for $125 apiece when the RE-11s came out, of course, as luck would have it I couldn't find my tire size at that price.

I will look into the tires you are mentioning, I really appreciate the help. I've had the 225/45R18 Yokohama AD07s on a Subaru and loved them, but they are pricey.

For wheel gap, it is what it is, sometimes you can see in in the front, sometimes it's not as noticeable. Probably depends on how level the ground is. Keep in mind, with 2 passengers in the front the car should be lower.

FWIW, someone sent me this article today, C&D's testing of a bunch of summer tires. The R1Rs were not rated well by them, but the S-04s were second overall, beaten out only by the Pilot Super Sport, which we all know is also Super Expensive. The AD08 and RS3 were 3rd and 4th on that list. The Conti ExtremeContact DW is 5th, and those are excellent tires for the price too.

Install fail. Lower spring perches are upside down, plastic spring seats are missing, bottom of spring isn't butted against it's notch. Need to reinstall.

I'm guessing the plastic seats are what the TSX uses instead of those sleeved isolators that wrap around the last coil to prevent metal on metal contact between spring and perch, the black piece in your picture here:

And the end of the spring needing to be against the notch of the perch is Suspension Install 101. That car must be clunking/squeaking like crazy over bumps.

Shop should redo it for free, ideally. I'm pretty sure orientation of the perches is in the instructions, I can check if you want. There is a notch on one side of the perches, that notch is supposed to sit on the circlip and prevent circlip from expanding.

I also always index the shocks/springs/tophats for their orientation as before when dis-assembling/re-assembling. That way the springs are all facing the same way, tophat studs are in correct position for lining up with holes, etc.

That's a great idea, marking/indexing the alignment. Most stock components have those too, you can usually see the markings from the factory. Very often, in our haste to get aftermarket parts on, that is forgotten and it leads to more time spent than necessary.

Sorry, man. I wish you were close, we could tackle this in my garage. There is a reason I stay away from most shops.

That sucks, sorry to hear about your problems. However, isn't the shop that did the initial install on the hook for the rework? I hope you're not having to pay twice for this job.

So, took the car to Acura to get the wheel looks off - they actually stripped their removal tool and my new key I bought but they got them off. Running standard lugs now. Unfortunately the tech scratched up the wheels...but they didn't even charge me for the removal.

Its at shop #2 right now hopefully being done the right way.

and P-master, I cannot comment on payment info...yet...will advise, but I'm working on something

Glad that everything is fixed. Looks great and hope to see more pictures of it soon.

So you are on Eibach and Konis using the upper perches?

thanks...me too...I was/am very stressed out about the entire situation...the $$ side isn't over with yet.

anyway, yes.. Eibach + Koni's on upper perches...and honestly unless you really want to slam your car, this drop/setup is perfect. It is exactly what I was looking for....a great drop while not only maintaining drive-ability, but making it better!

I'll try to take better pics but...you just have to see the drop for yourself - a personal thanks to Stan for the help and for restraining me - I wanted to use the lower perches and I'm so glad I didn't...there is no need...

This is the perfect setup because there's no dealing with coilover leveling and/or quality or part replacement issues.

Looks awesome, probably one of the best performing suspension set ups for these cars too I'd think. I'm still intrigued by a Koni + Ground Control combo too.

KONI with Ground Control gets expensive, though if you get the shocks on sale you are around $1,000 into the setup. I was initially going that route, and may do it in the future, but using linear springs of higher rate made me question the ride quality. It would be a nice setup, though. Around same price as Tein SS and H&R coilovers, both of which should be great too.

Hey stan_t what type of Koni's did you get? Everywhere I look it says the Koni yellow shocks are not available for my 2012 tsx base. I'm wondering if it's a availability or compatibility issues. Can you confirm? Thanks

Yup, they are out everywhere from what I've heard. I just had my friend recheck with Tire Rack and the system is saying backordered until May.

They are the KONI Sport (yellows). The part numbers are:

8041-1407SPORT -- Rear
8041-1406RSPORT -- Right Front
8041-1406LSPORT -- Left Front

I'd just wait and do em all at once. No point assembling and disassembling again when the Konis come in. The Koni FB page says there are two shipments from Europe en route, one will be here in a week and the other a couple weeks later. Shouldn't be too long it seems.
