Bought 50 shares at $41.03. Don't plan on hanging on to it for very long though.

Fuck you Nasdaq. Still have an order from before market opened that hasn't executed. They obviously didn't take into account the massive volume of shares trading.

And making my day a living hell.

You should know the system will never be able to handle large volume spikes.

Goto cnbc.com and you can watch Zuckerberg's wealth change in real-time. It's right on the home page.

So FB closed @ $38.23 today.
I hope none of you bought the stock for above $40.

I still don't understand how the shares & company could be valued that highly.

So even though I cancelled my ordered, it was filled at $42 ... 8 hrs and 11 min after I entered it. Everyone that put their limit order in at $42 or above before market opened got $42. Confirms are still coming in..

Now I can only hope it goes UP.

+1

Even @ the $38 IPO price, I think it's still too much.

From page 1:

Without that share price information, Facebook's valuation is still speculative.

Facebook has its own guesses, though. The company said it conducted its own valuation of its stock at the end of each quarter, and as of December 31 determined it to be worth $29.73 a share.
I'll wait a couple of weeks or so and see what happens. If it pulls back to about $25-$28, I might consider it. But not where it is now.

Interesting how when it pulled back to $38 twice, it never went below it.

Even after hours trading is erratic.

$38.33 now.

Minus your brokerage fees for buying and selling.... that's like what... $13 profit?

ZNGA might be a good spec play where it is now or if it pulls back to $6.xx. Let's see what happens next week.

Facebook early on was a suckers bet.

They left nothing on the table.

...and I thought a $45 close was gonna be weak.

...oof!

I think the massive volume and subsequent trading delays and errors (as described here) played a big part in today's poor performance. It's still the most talked about thing right now (twitter, drudge, cable news, etc) and once the hysteria dies a little over the weekend we'll see where things end up next Friday. If it hits $47-48 i'm cashing out.

The stock is trading on "buzz" not sound financial judgement/typical trading fundamentals.

Maybe you did cancel it but you still got it.

I cancelled mine but it still filled, alllll because of nasdaq's screw up.

Oh well. I predict it will be in the hundreds in a few weeks

Nothing but greed on the part of zuckerberg and early investers. Really, did they need to have a 100B company right out of the gate? Nothing left for the little guy.

My suspicions have been confirmed.

Lead Facebook Inc (FB.O) underwriter Morgan Stanley (NYS:MS - News) took a bet earlier this week when it increased the size of the social networking firm's $16 billion initial public offering and it boosted the price.

Thanks to massive hype surrounding Facebook's historic public offering, the wager looked safe. But a rocky first day of trading has raised questions about whether it paid off.

After a delayed start to trading, Facebook's shares spent much of the day struggling to stay above the $38 IPO price - and ended with just a 23-cent gain.

As a result, Morgan Stanley may have spent billions of dollars to support the stock price by buying shares in the market. Some market participants said that the underwriters had to absorb mountains of stock to defend the $38 level and keep the market from dipping below it.

The firm did this by tapping into a 63 million share over-allotment option, or greenshoe, according to sources familiar with the deal.

As an indication of the cost, had Morgan Stanley bought all of the shares traded around $38 in the final 20 minutes of the day, it would have spent nearly $2 billion. Underwriters are not obligated to prop up a stock on debut, but typically do.

Morgan Stanley declined to comment.

I've read some stuff speculating that retail investors actually got a larger % of the IPO shares than normal because of a lack of institutional interest.

Ouch - rolling around $33 this morning - Told you guys to stay away. The retail investor was never going to make any money on FB - only the people holding the shares prior (VC's and Employees)

You'd think with 100 BILLION FREAKING DOLLARS zuckerberger baby could marry a little hotter than that *long sigh*, just about makes one lose faith in humanity. At least Tiger Woods had TASTE, and knew how to be a role model

No, posts like yours make one lose faith in humanity.

I admit she isn't much to look at but maybe its true love. Maybe she's known him well before he ever had money and fame. It's called a real history.

Better to marry the girl that was with him from early on than to marry some bimbo that's just with him because he has a big bank account. Seriously, if not her, who could he trust now? Yeah he could every hot woman on the planet, but that's empty.
