The GT is just so unrefined. The interior looks like garbage and the overhangs are just comical.

GT intro vs. NSX intro:
GT intro: *crickets* because NO ENGINE
NSX intro: 30 seconds of just....revving....revving....high rpm revving......just to prove to us doubters that it is no longer vaporware.....excuse me while I wipe drool off my face.... .....I need to capture that sound and make it my ringtone....
Yeah, I'd say NSX wins the publicity battle here. I've never seen an Acura intro like that before. I think they really do mean business this time, just like with the TLX.
Oh gawd, I'm sounding like a fanboi. Time to stop...

Wow I actually didn't have to try to like the production model. When I first saw photos of it I thought 'Jesus! That looks good.' I'm really surprised that it looks better than the concept.
I'm hoping a raceteam decides to run this car in the tudor GT class.

I am SERIOUSLY considering dropping some money on this baby! This would be a purchase and keep in my possession as a long term toy....

The NSX looks sooo great. Since when do production cars look better than the concepts? Talk about vtec, now you've got some turbos and electricity... Look out Ferrari!

I agree and I will need to make a decision soon on whether or not I am prepared to put that much money on a vehicle as I would put a halt on my spring acquire and just keep the money for this baby. Part of me knows that it is ridiculous to put that much money on a vehicle and even though I could, I think that I would seriously regret after....but man this baby has got me dreaming!
I know eh?!?
I know eh?!?
and thousands of Ferraris, Porshes , Lambos around.
isnt the NSX worthy ?? . Just ask any FI team when the Honda/Mclaren line up at the starting lane .

weather-you really want to get one to put in your living room to stare at, that's the real reason.
if only money grew on trees....now Acura needs to trickle some of this down to the rest of the line up!!

Jalopnik ain't nice about the new NSX. Not going to quote their articles, go take a look. But, they do praise the new Ford GT. Maybe they are right when they say that Acura has been "announcing" the NSX even before Michael Jackson was dead, while the Ford GT people just did it with no fanfare. Maybe.
Points to Ford for PR, points to Acura for technology. Simple.
PS. Bet you by next month the Ford people will have the new GT at Jay Leno's garage and he'll be carving the canyons collecting more speeding tickets If the Acura brass have half a brain they'll give the keys to Michelle and tell her to drive it over NOW to Burbank.

Any company can show up with a car like the GT in 2 months , after all it was all mold plastic.

^ The GT350R was the real show stopper, in my humble opinion. No air, no stereo, no nothing.
But you are right, Ford has a way of doing things that sometimes is a bit sociopathic.
Once again high marks to Acura for getting on board the new technology and high marks to Ford for, well, being anti-social, lol.

It didn't take too long for someone to imagine a targa version...

There's all kinds of rumors about a roofless NSX, together with a convertible smaller sports car that might be labelled a Honda instead of an Acura.
But...it's very tough for convertibles to meet some Honda safety standards, and I'm surprised and very cautious about all of these convertible rumors.

George, I agree. Product management is who drives this and engineering has to catch up. Sadly Honda/Acura doesn't appear to have carbon fibre manufacturing capability at the moment to build a carbon fibre tub, just like all other convertibles of this type are doing these days. Also they don't seem to be too keep outsourcing that capability, or other capability and mostly like to start building everything themselves. So, given this combination of issues, I doubt we'll see a convertible NSX. But then again, you never know!
PS. a lot of these super cars of today start their life as carbon fiber tubs in Canada. Don't want to mention manufacturers, maybe they would like to remain anonymous, but a little of google-ing and I am sure you'll find out who and where in Canada they have that capacity. Also off-topic, body panels of the Accord and TLX are pressed in Canada... Contrary to popular belief, people work in these factories and not beavers
