How often do home color laser printers need to be calibrated?
My HP 1525nw is shot so I replaced it with a M252dw. These color lasers like to calibrate after power on and then every so often. My 1525nw used to really piss me off when it did this. It would stop in the middle of a print job to calibrate. On the new one there is option to adjust when it does this and it can be even turned off. Does anyone know how often this really needs to be done on a home use color laser? Is just turning it off fine?

No idea, but if the print looks OK I say skip it...
This must be an HP thing, neither of my Dell color laser printers ever ask to do this (and I didn't ever turn the feature off).

Thanks, I turned it off. I think leaving it on is a good way to waste toner.

agreed. if I recall correctly, one of the inkjet printer companies got in hot water a while ago for forcing unnecessary "calibrations" or "nozzle cleanings" just to use up ink... Of course, you had to use THEIR ink, too.
