Like Jared said, security- IE5 used to trigger all kinds of pop-ups and crap, and adware, viruses and malware were written to use IE, whereas Firefox was immune to that (as was Safari, on the iMacs).
I switched to FF for work and most browsing (except IE is necessary for me to see photos on my desktop at work, for some reason).
Once some people compare Google Chrome and FF, I'll decide if I want to consider adding Chrome.
But Google is taking over the net!
I just hope Google continues to conform to its "Don't be evil" credo.

Damn.. I'm using it right now and it's FAST. Options are obviously limited for now.. but I can't stress enough about the speed. We'll see how it plays out when they implement other add-ons, etc.

Yes, it's ok... What is the major difference between Firefox and this Google Browser?
You can also tweak firefox all you want... But I do like the tabs interface on Google.

Damn nothing works for me! I go to the download page and choose accept and install and then the button goes grey and nothing happens after that!! This happens in both FF3 and IE 8. i guess I'll try safari and sleipner.

Yeah, wow, it's really fast.
My firefox at home is acting really retarded (taking about 30 seconds to start now)
so I might try switching to this for a while.

Chrome is lightning fast (now im the one lagging). Its also so simple it feels like im missing something. I also liked that it imported my Mozilla bookmarks almost automatically, and how the tabs are their own process so nothing goes bad. For the last month FF would keep randomly closing on me so this is an end to that.

Ok I got it working. Apparently there are two download links directly from google, one works and the other doesn't! I found the working one and so far I haven't noticed much difference. OOO wait it has the ability to manually resize this quick reply post window, just like safari!! I wish IE and FF had that! I'm gonna give it some more time to see what differences I notice.

I download this thing before lunch and it's fast alright. I love the simplicity of not having all the menu items. But once I got onto Acurazine, I immediately realized why Firefox is still my prefer browser, Adblocker and Addons. I'll wait until more plugins are developed for the browser before I use it.

Well after using it for a few hours the fact that smooth scrolling does not exist really bothers me. I think the extensions will start coming in soon (hopefully)
