Highest Mileage 2nd Gen TSX?
Hi everyone, first off, this is my first post on this site! I just purchased a red 2013 TSX Special Edition a couple weeks ago. So far I LOVE this car! It rides and drives great! The only things I dont care for are the lack of tech (I know I couldve gotten a tech package, but is supposed to be a luxury car), and the easily scratchable plastic. As it sits, it has 39k miles. I drive about 32-35k a year, and I know that Acura has a reputation for being extremely reliable, but how many miles do you have on your 2nd Gen TSX? What do you love/hate about it?

I have an 2009 premium white pearl base A/T with about ~109xxx miles.
Love pretty much everything about it... other than how easily the fog lights crack, the crappy bluetooth performance, the slow, the gas mileage, that its an i4, that its an auto, the seats.. no just kidding
It's a great, well rounded vehicle with, in my mind, few flaws. I wish the states had bi-xenon... maybe some more "luxury" features but for what you are getting there are less than a few other vehicles I would consider.

I know we've had a few guys here in the 100k+ club. Don't know how many there are now. I only have 55k and only drive ~12k /year so I wont be there anytime soon.

The TSX is more or less identical to the 8th gen Accord mechanically (2008-2012 models). The one I used to have is still in the family and kicking strong with 290k or so now. I've seen 2G TSX's with 180k+ for sale before too, so if you do the scheduled maintenance, you should be good

A German magazine recently rated the teardown of the most reliable cars on the road. They drive them for 100k kms (about 62k miles) then tear the vehicle down to individual parts. The TSX (actually the Euro Accord wagon) rated toward the top with no breakdowns and no unscheduled dealer visits. Brake pads were due at about 80k kms (50k miles) and there was only topical rust and no impending failures or chronic weak spots when it was torn down.
300k miles is not unheard of with normal maintenance.

I have a 2009 base, 6speed. Just hit 80,000 miles this week. No problems at all. Just reg maintenance. First and second year of ownership I put a lot of miles on it, many long and short distance weekend trips. The car is super fun to drive. Now I have company car so I've put about 3K miles since last year.
I have some things I don't like about it, one being the crappy blue tooth but that can be easily upgraded. I have being eyeing the WRX and when I compare a 2016 wrx interior and features to this TSX the WRX is such a downgrade lol makes me love the features I have currently even more.

2011 Wagon Tech with 70K. So...not high mileage for a Honda product. Car still drives like new....and we plan on having it for another 5 years at minimum. Likely closer to 7 years. At which point, it will have around 140-160K miles. So even at that point, the decision to buy a new car will be for "want", rather than "need".
Like people have said....300K+ is no problem with normal maintenance. There's someone with a 1st gen that has over 500K miles. It was recently compression tested and dyno'd to show only negligible losses in those values as compared to new.

I have a 2010 base with 6MT, which I bought new in October 2009. It just crossed over to 100k miles, and other than getting the A/C charged and brakes and struts replaced, nothing other than routine maintenance. It drives like new, and the structure is still rock solid. It's been an outstanding car, and seems to be one of the last cars to have the magical Honda combo of a high-revving NA four with 6MT.

Assuming you're not driving through potholes and they aren't 100% harsh city driving (more common in NYC/DC/Toronto/Boston/etc than California), your car is a baby. Just keep up with maintenance.

My 2012 V6 is at 230,000 miles. Changed timing belt at 215,000 and it still looked brand new. Only changed oil before timing belt, still running stk plugs, and car runs just like new.

Mine lives in downtown Philly, and even though most mileage has been on the highway, it has seen more than its share of potholes! My neighborhood's streets sometimes look like a war zone. This probably accounts for the strut replacement a few years ago. Overall, it seems like an incredibly solid, durable car.

My cousin bought my families 2010 tsx with 135k on it. No problems other than the brake pedal freezing in the winter. It's still a joy to drive!

Awesome! My 2012 TSX Wagon has only half that mileage! You must drive twice as fast as I do.
OP - I had the front drive shafts replaced under drivetrain warranty at 54,500 miles. The symptom is vibration under brisk acceleration. Otherwise, pretty reliable.

Just to Chip in, I have had 4-5 TSX 09 and up as I am a Dealer and Acura fan. MY 09 Base had 189K Miles believe it or not Ran like a Champ no Issues other then I had to replace all 4 shocks and it was back to being Smooth. I am super picky and anal with little cracking rattling noise and this car had none. MY Avatar TSX is 09 6 Spd 128K Miles looks and Drove like a Brand new TSX not even exaggerating...

Just joined the Acura club with my purchase of a 2009 TSX with Tech and 120K.
Excellent service records, everything working, only problems are a lot of paint chips on hood from highway commute that previous owner had, and the stench of cigarettes inside. I'll be addressing both of these. For $10K out-the-door price to me, including taxes, registration, tags, everything, I think it was a good deal. We only put about 8-9K a year on cars, so not worried about a higher mileage one to start, in a few years it will an "average" mile car for its age.
Really wanted a wagon, but not worth the minimum $5K markup on them that I was seeing in the used market. For that much, I'll buy a Thule box for the top when I need it and take the mileage hit, or just take by big Lexus LX470 (and take the even bigger mileage hit).

I have a 2010 TSX that I purchased brand-new. I just clicked over 178,000 miles…and have done nothing to it besides oil changes and rear brakes twice. It runs great, but has just recently developed a shaking when accelerating from 60 to 80 mph. From what I read online, some say an engine mount needs to be replaced. Some say axles. The Acura dealer tells me it's tires, but I know that's not true because I replaced them twice and no resolve. Although I tire of cars usually after three years, and this one is boring to me now, I'm very paranoid to get anything different because of how reliable this thing has been!

2010 TSX V6 with 81k miles
Still running strong, no major issues except when the ABS module went ($2k).
Only complain would the 5 speed AT mated to the V6...its just horrible sometimes. Other than that, I love the car

2010 v6 owner here. purchased the car with 40k miles, just hit 103K miles. So far the issues i have had:
-fog lights broke from rock chips. Redid the lenses with lexan/acrylic which melted but never leaked. Will redo when it gets warmer. Led fogs failed (cheap chinese housings)
-Windshield broke from rock chips, normal wear and tear for my area.
-Alternator failed. most likely due to weak battery straining alternator due to lights being left on by the wife.
-Front bumper damaged due to dad backing into car, eventually might replace bumper.
maintenance items:
-timing belt water pump and spark plugs done at 100k.
-Second set of brake pads installed. Still on original EBC slotted rotors when I first bought the car and installed them.
-regular oil changes every 7500 miles
ATF drain and refill every 15-20k miles.
installed megan racing coils at about 90k miles. Replaced 1 blown shock due to pot hole.

I have a 2009 Tech I4 that I bought with 67K miles and I just passed 188,000 the other day. Haven't had any major issues yet. I have had to replace both axles from wear and the positive and negative battery cables due to corrosion. Other than that just your standard maintenance. Very happy so far.

72k on my 2012 tech wagon. Having just passed the end of the drivetrain warranty I'm a wee bit anxious about any upcoming issues. My (crappy) dealer did throw in a lifetime drivetrain warranty, though I've heard making claims against that sort of warranty can be a total pain.
Moved last summer and instead of 8-10k miles per year, I'm putting on a solid 18-20k. I hope to get the car to 150k which should be another 3-5 years.
