Ouch! That sucks!

I remember when Splinter Cell conviction came out and that game was considered heavy memory and FPS wise.
My xbox was shitting out on me then. I would get ice packs, put them in ziplock bags so they wouldnt drip onto electronics. And Id put one ontop of the xbox laying on its side and on infront of a fan blowing cold air onto the xbox. I could play splinter cell for a couple hours before it over heated and RROD.
Are you going with XBO? I can't. I just cant. I'll finally make that switch to PS with the PS4. Just not down for the direction Xbox is going with the whole all your entertainment in one thing.
I dont play a lot of games or watch a lot of TV. When I do its one or the other for a short time. I feel the XboxOne is better for those that play games or watch movies/TV daily/nightly.

Whats up with RDX owners?

I've modded my case for better airflow, and I've done all I could to keep it from getting the RROD. I'm surprised this one lasted as long as it did - ~5 years. My old Elite only lasted about 3 years, and I had to fix the RROD on it three times. The fourth time killed it for good. I really have no desire to get the 360 up and running again; GTAV was the only reason I used it.
I've had the One for almost a year now. I had everything running through it the way Microsoft wants, but it became annoying having to wait for the console to boot up just to watch TV. So now I treat it like the 360; it's a gaming console and thats it. I even disconnected the Kinect because I think it's a stupid gimmick, and voice commands rarely worked for me anyway.
I'll eventually pick up a PS4 as well, once the next gen Gran Turismo comes out. But I barely use my PS3 as it is.

It was 42GB on the One. I downloaded last week as part of the preorder, it took about 3 hours. Then I fired it up midnight Monday, as they said it would be available - then it went through the install process At 2:30am, it was at 43%. I went to bed and let it do it's thing. It was done when I woke up.

Yeah I went to bed, it was ready in the morning. Much to my wife's annoyance, I took the day off and played until lunch

It says in load screens that it'll be available March 10.
#1302
I believe the load screens. That would be hard to come back from I think when so many players have probably seen that message.
Real question for me is... how worth while will these heists be... will they be timed events I can only hit during the weekend? Can I witness other people doing their heists or are we put in a private lobby to do so?

WTF? 9 Years later and this is being announced for PS5?
#1307
Really doesn't look that impressive, even. No surprise though.
Next thing you know, Skyrim will be announced for the PS5

GTA 5 and GTA Online: PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Versions Get March Release Date
https://www.ign.com/articles/gta-5-a...-date-next-gen
GTA 5 and GTA Online will be released as upgraded, native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions on March 15.
After a delay last year, Rockstar has confirmed that the new-gen editions will arrive soon, bringing "new graphics modes with up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, texture and draw distance upgrades, HDR options and ray-tracing".
Rockstar also promises that the games will take advantage of new console tech, offering "faster loading times, immersive 3D audio, platform-specific features like advanced haptic feedback, and much more."
Players will be able to perform a "one-time migration" of their story mode progress and GTA Online characters from PS4 and Xbox One to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
