13.39? How did you manage that? I'm gonna need to see some timeslips for that ET. Not saying I don't believe you, but that is almost too good to be true until I see a slip! But damn, how do you launch? What do you mean by 'road racing' tires? Drag radials? I saw you heating 'em up and usually you don't heat up street tires, only DR's. And what are your exact mods?

Very nice. I'm impressed. This is giving me incentive to practice launching and get at least a 2.0-2.1 and dip into the mid 13s. I'm very competitive and love having some of the fastest 1/4 mile times (I need to go back cuz my car has more potential than my ET) so I have some work to do! Lol. It's good to know we can get into the lower 13s with just bolt ons! Kudos man
Oh, what tires do you have?

Yea, 13.39 @103 is fast man. I don't see that happening without the tires you have or some kind of DR. Definitely not on street tires NA, the S/C guys are running 13.1s with street tires @106-107. I just don't think 1.9 60's are attainable with street tires for our cars.

I just looked at all my time slips and my best 60ft on street tires is a 2.05,2.06, and 2.07 on street tires (NITTO INVO) in my old CLS (now owned by indecisivefool), I think with real drag radials we can probably get 1.8-1.7,s

Haven't seen many 2nd gen times posted but I ran 15.0-15.2 completely stock at about 92 I think. Modded I was a consistent 14.6-14.7 at 96-97MPH. I think my TLS was a little slow but around what was expected with I/H and lighter wheels (still 18s though). I can't find the pics of my slips but I am sure they are out there.
A friend of mine with a CLS modded like mine was running 14.2s I think at 98-99 mph. Was weird that his car was that much faster than mine but we went to the strip together a couple of times. He was a better driver but the mph was significantly higher.

Thanks. not terrible but not great either. The problem with my buddy's CL was that it was an auto (it was an 01 CLS). So technically speaking there was little difference between our cars. He was just more aggressive I think in the way he launched. Like I said, the fact that his traps were 2-3 MPH higher than mine made me think maybe I got a car from the "slow" batch.

Here is the thread I found:

Jesus...can't believe it has been 6 years since I last went to the track...well, at least 5 years but I don't think I made it back in 04 and know I haven't gone since 04.

I went to the track today. Unfortunately, I only got 1 horrible run Lol. Oh well. I rode the clutch on the launch which resulted in a 2.456 60', and the clutch slipping all thru 1st and almost all of 2nd. I had to feather most of 2nd
Though it yielded a time I'm not happy with (14.5), I still managed to trap 100.08 while slipping the 1-2 shift, feathering 2nd gear, (major slippage) and having the clutch slip on the 2-3 shift. Also, the difference between the 1/8 mph and 1/4 mph compared to my best slip, the mph difference was +2 on this run, so the exhaust and ported mani definitely helped. This leads me to believe that she's good for a 102mph trap for sure. The weather was also hotter today by almost 20 degrees comparing runs. But hey, I fukced up the launch and I sucked
I may try to go to another track before they close

But damn, that trap speed is killer! Looks like those mods definitely helped. I bet you could at least reach 102 MPH (if you don't fuck up) lol jk jk I'm just messing with ya.
I'm surprised the tracks are still open, it's almost December

My son had MUCH WORSE runs than you. Actually, he had his worst runs ever as he had a terrible time trying to hookup of the line, spinning through 1st and 2nd gear. No doubt his power is there (98mph w/ low 15 second times)but his new Michelin Pilot Sports are having a tough time putting it to the pavement. At this point, he states that he wont run again until he gets a pair of drag radials or slicks. With Etown soon to close for the season, I'm guessing its a wrap for him this season.

I was there for about 40 minutes yesterday, which was probably not the best use of $15. (I came right after church with the wife and baby but, had to bolt in order take my older daughter somewhere). I hit the stands a little before your run and I have a clip of your run. Although you did not run as well as you'd wished, I still kick myself for not getting a 6MT AV6.

I didnt realize you were there! We both had sh!t runs we were talking about it. I saw smoke on his 2nd run from spinning thru 1st lol then most of 2nd. Im confident I will see my goal after trapping 100 after having major clutch slippage and feathering 2nd. Stephen should see 13s with radials for sure! Did you by any chance hear my wonderful clutch or was the white cobra too loud? Lol.

I went to the track on Friday! I had a blast. I had 7 total runs. Raced my buddy in his 2010 Tundra 5.7L 6 times! I won 5 out of the 6 races against him!
Track: Southwest International Raceway
Location: Tucson, AZ
Elevation: 3075FT
Density Alttitude:4229FT
Best 1/4 mile Time: 15.42
Best Trap Speed: 92.08
Best 1/4 mile Time Corrected: 14.666
Best Trap Speed Corrected: 97.17MPH
Engine Mods: CAI, Catback, UR Pulley
Transmission: Auto
Overall I am thrilled. I would love to race at sea level but atleast it gives me a idea of where I should be at sea level. My buddy in the tundra 4door limited 5.7L pulled a best of 15.57@90.6MPH. So he is in the upper 14's stock at sea level. Can't wait to run him after his I/E. My times and his were seperated by .20. I will post my slips against him later!

The Michelin Pilot Sports (PS2) are very sticky street tires. But, they are slippery for the first few miles. I would say approx 1000 miles needs to be put on them for the stickiness to began to appear. Without my PS2 tires, I would not had been able to do my sub 5 0-60.

I doubt I'd take a Tundra in the 1/4 mile but, I'd like to try. (BTW: I have no illusions about it being anywhere near as fast as say an FX50, Cayenne V8 or X5/6 V8; it just has impressive 'get up and go' for a V6 powered SUV weighing 600lbs north of 2 tons.)

Honestly, this thing is probably going to cause me to get a speeding ticket. While it's not exactly a rocket, it seems to like cruising at 95 mph. The J37 is sweet. Although I keep reading that its not as smooth as other J-series motors, I think it's at least as smooth has the J30A5 in the 7G AV6.

I am curious to see what the 2010 MDX runs 1/4 mile wise with the 6AT. I would imagine a few tenths quicker at the most and maybe 2 MPH or so. Your MDX would run high 15's? You should take it to the track for fun. Maybe you will beat your 7th gen accord time!

Glad to hear you like your MDX. It is a much better looking SUV than most on the Road and including better looking than my 09 Murano SL. I bought that SUV from my Grandma who just passed and am using it as a daily driver and its nice but I hate the CVT lol. I wish she had bought the MDX instead because then I would be driving that!!!

As far as the 09 Murano, we did test drive an SL AWD w/Tech pkg about two weeks ago and LOVED IT. However, the lease deals on any trim level > an S AWD w/convenience pkg are TERRIBLE. Honestly, I actually like the 09 Murano more than the MDX but, the MDX owns it when it comes to cargo capacity.
Anyhow, I will run it once or twice just for the heck of it. Just a sidenote on the J37: though it has 300hp/275lb-ft, it still feels a little weak off the line...which it sort of a Honda trademark. IMHO, an IMA setup (i.e.: 7G AV6H) would make the MDX a damn near perfect crossover SUV, giving it great off the line grunt as well has better fuel efficiency.

Sidenote: He's had to modify his launch style as I had NO problem hooking up with the Pilots. I wish my old 02 Maxima had Pilots instead of Falken Ziexs...I might have been able to edge a 14.6 sec ET in stock trim.

F23A4,
On November 16, you mentioned that your new Pilots were not hooking too well.
I then mentioned that the new PS2 tires need approx 1000 miles put on them before they begin to get sticky.
Today, I noticed that you mentioned that the Pilots are hooking great. Just curious if you had the same experience as me with the Pilots needing some miles put on them? BTW, when you say Pilots, do you mean the PS2?

Just an update: Stephen installed a Nismo CAI. Taking it for a spin soonafter the installation, I'm pretty certain that he should be in the 13.6-13.8 sec range, provided the tires hookup....which it should.
