Excelerate Performance has spent an extensive period of time working with Acurazine members and Acura vehicles on their XLR8 brake packages. We’ve tested, installed and used on our very own vehicles the brake components in these very packages.

These Acurazine brake packages are designed to improve braking performance and durability at a reasonable price. The packages in a nutshell include STOPTECH performance rotors, which are offered in premium blank, slotted, drilled, or drilled and slotted, and STOPTECH Performance pads. All of the rotors have a black e-coating on the hubs and vanes and an advanced alloy composition. The STOPTECH slotted rotors for the front of some Acuras are also a Curved Vane Power Alloy Disc, which helps reduce heat in the brake system and utilizes more durable alloys. The STOPTECH Performance pads are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads.

We have a multitude of different packages available for the Acurazine community. Each package comes with front and rear STOPTECH rotors and STOPTECH Street Performance Pads. We also now offer packages with our XLR8 Stainless Steel Brake Lines included.

The Stoptech Street Performance Brake Pads that come with these packages are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads. Their Maximum Operating Temperature (MOT) is 1300°F which is higher than any other street pad currently on the market. Not only do they perform well in hot temperatures they also perform well in cold temperatures. We have plenty of customers who run these pads in sub-zero climates and have no problems.




Our XLR8 Stainless Steel Brake Lines are made up of teflon hose that has an extruded teflon core with an outer stainless steel braided wire covering. The ends are then permanently crimped on each end. Each line is then finished with a black PVC cover, which gives added protection from flying debris or further abrasion protection from the line rubbing on suspension components. All lines are DOT certified and manufactured for us by an industry expert who has 25 years of experience.

Looking for new pads and rotors to replace my Brakemotive's. The rears are now shot.
2005 Acura TL 2005, Base Model. Auto (Non-brembro).

I assume the slotted and drilled from Rotos are fine for this stock model? I am in NJ so cold weather performance in daily driving is critical. Also, what is the life expectancy of the pads?

You won't notice the difference between drilled & slotted and slotted on the street. On the track however, drilled & slotted will outperform slotted but slotted is more durable and less prone to cracking. If you're just looking for replacements and won't be doing anything more than daily driving, then perhaps the Premium Blank package is a better option. The Street Performance pads will provide better performance regardless of the style of rotor. They perform well at cold start. We have plenty of customers who run these pads in sub-zero climates. Hey there.

Is there any kind of warranty on these? I bought a complete blank set a year ago, maybe less, and one of my rear rotor's plating is chipping at the edge about an inch wide.

Rotors are tough to warranty after they have been installed and used for an extended period of time but I will send any and all info to Stoptech and see what they have to see. Shoot me an email to Casey@ExceleratePerformance.com with pictures of what you're looking at and describe any problems you feel you're having. I will relay back to you anything Stoptech says.
