19x8.0 with 45 offset.....Rubbing...what do i do?

I just got some 19x8.0 rims that are 45 mm offset and i currently am runnin them on the OEM stock shocks and springs....but the problem is my rear tires are rubbing....could it be because of the offset, or is it because of my shocks and springs (currently at about 130k miles). Ive already folded in my rear fenderwell as well. Ive been planning on getting the Kyb agx shocks along with the tein springs, but i dont kno whether i should get the S tech or the H Tech. Which would be the better combo, and would it stop the rubbing....Thanks

that width on those rims are too wide with that offset.I think you need around +50 offset.

The wheels are the problem. If your rubbing with a stock suspension setup it'll only get worse if you drop. OK you've rolled your fenders and as suggested you should trim your bumper tabs. That's about all you can do with the setup you have.

Trim you bumper tabs and you'll be fine, many have ran that setup of 19x8 with 45 offset.

I have the same setup, only I am dropped, and I only rubbed when loaded to the brim with people in the backseat.

What size of tires are you running?

What do the bumper tabs look like? I'm going out to home depot today to buy a dremel and see if I could just cut the parts that rub off. I'm planning on lowering the car another inch

My 235 18x7.5 offset 45 wheels were rubbing before I cut the tabs without any drop. I never heard any rubbing after cutting the tabs.

Look in your wheel well and you'll see these "tabs". It is just the top of the plastic bumper where it meets your fender. If you look close at the very edge you'll probably see where it has been rubbing (paint missing, etc).

225 is mm i believe. that measures the width accross the top. riding on 35s is the rough part. 35 is the hieght of the sidewall. I think its mm but not too sure. cant be inches or CM.

twan

the first # (225) is the section width of the tire / the 2nd # (35) is an Aspect ratio of the first #

the only time it rubs is when people are in the car (two or more) or when the road is bumpy.....it rubs along the top part of the fender well.....ive already rolled in the fender tabs....should i just cut them off?

Dont know how much you will gain by that if you have already rolled the fender. The problem is the offset and tire size. I would change one of them. And since tires are cheaper i would change the tire size

haha awesome running into you earlier today, small world this is. How long have you been rockin' the TL?

btw this is the bumper tab that everyone has been referring to in case you arent sure (the blue highlighted section is what i cut off).

I used to rub too (18x8 +48 with 225/40) but after cutting these, 90% of the rubbing is gone.

just to get an idea how much i did cut:
