On summers cracking, someone put in the word SOME & will agree with that. Been driving on OEM & replacement summer performance exclusively since 2004, Michelin, Continental, Yokohama & NITTO. Mounted on Acura, BMW, COBRA, Genesis & Porsche. Not a crack in the lot. Only downside is they wear faster than regular tires & are totally useless on snow or ice.

For the best handling, bar none it’s the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. These have more grip than a lot of summer tires, but the trade off is that tread life isn’t particularly good, and they’re just as bad as summer tires in the snow. For something more balanced, Continental DSW06. But since you have FWD, why is all seasons a must?
