18” rims on 2021 Aspec
Hello all,
I’ve a CPO 21 TLX in modern steel with red interior. Although I love gunmetal rims and first had a set on my black TSX I really don’t like the design and lack of contrast of the Aspec rims on mine. I’d considered painting them black since they’d already been repaired and painted when I bought the car, but now I have an opportunity to pick up a brand new set of take offs from an Integra Aspec for only $800 with like new OEM tires. The design is much nicer (similar to 24 TLX Aspec rims) and darker gray at least to my eyes. Curious if anyone else with SH-AWD has stepped down to an 18x8, how it looks, and if it negatively affected handling. It’s a deal either way so if they don’t go on my TLX I’ll put them on a 7th gen accord.

Keep in mind that 'stepping down' to an 18" wheel will impact your speedometer and odometer. Your speedo will show a speed HIGHER than normal and your odometer will tick off miles faster than before. You'd have to change the transmission gear insert to adjust for the wheels.
Now the amount may NOT be that much (1-2%?) but over time you'll be cheating yourself.

There is only about a 0.9% difference between 235/50-18 and 255/40-19. Not enough to make any significant difference to your odometer. Actually, the tire diameter is larger on the 235/50-18 so the odometer will tick off the miles 0.9% slower than with the 19 inch stock wheels/tires.
