Which wheel would you take?

Pictures of these wheels are from the CA site, but it's highly unlikely we'd get different wheels for the US. It looks like Tech, A-Spec, and Advance all get the same wheel, just with a different finish. These are ordered in Base->Tech->A-Spec->Advance

They all look amazing. I would take the exterior of A-SPEC and interior of Elite

Definitely looks very upscale and modern! Well done Acura!

Current Aspec has much better looking wheels. Hopefully they have a option to change them for not too much more

Yep.

Historically, it's always at least $2000. It's like they dumpster the intended wheels.

So tech aspec and advance all have the same wheels but with different color schemes? Lol

None of them look good in pictures, perhaps they look better in person.

Totally agree. 3rd best Acura wheel design, right behind the NSX Y-spokes and the 3G waffles.

The ones in bottom pic were on 2021 base model yesterday at the dealer. They had 2 cars for "press" testing.

Actually I like the 1st (base) set the most. Wheels are such a subjective thing.

Oh really?
So, sounds like Jon (or his assistants) ARE reading here, or they came to the same conclusion we did about the 19-inch wheels on their own.

Yeah, they are all the same, but at least that version is mostly bare-alloy.

I think they are trying to be trendy and make bold design choices. I guess they think young people like that.

Maybe I just got lucky, but my previous experience is you find the perfect Acura and the wheels are high-class-looking and acceptable (especially on upper-trims).

Yes, that is a nice 19-inch wheel design. You can get them "taste-fully darkened" like that ... or just pewter/bare-alloy like this.
It's not hard Acura.

Wheels are completely subjective. Incidentally the entry level rim something like the basic Audi 4 rim. They don't floor me, but they ar both decent. I prefer the Aspec and the Platinum Elite rims, which would be the two models I am interested in.
Ultimately I need to see them in person, but I do love my current ASpec rims.

I'd get the cheapest ones and use them as snow wheels during the winter. Honestly, they all look pretty terrible. I'd save on any wheel option and use it towards a nice set of aftermarkets.

At least we know that HRE P1 Series P101 wheels look incredible on the TLX.

HRE wheels on an Acura . That's almost unheard of, with the exception of the new NSX.

So, if you go after-market wheels do you give-up Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) ?

That would be sad to finally drive a car with TPMS, but then have to give-it-up.

After market wheels can have TPMS installed just like OEM wheels.

Is this a joke? THIS is the wheel choice on the "best sport sedan in 35 years"??? Is this what the GM/Honda partnership is about? They went dumpster diving at the GM warehouse for Chevy Malibu LS wheels that have been sitting there since 2010?

Maybe they needed to further differentiate by Type-S by gimping the wheels for the 2.0T.

Evidently the fanboys here do like the wheels though, so what do I know.

This hasn't been an issue for over a decade. Aftermarket wheels can use OEM sensors.

I thought Acura already did a masterful job of differentiating the Type S by giving you less content at a higher price.

I buy and maintain vehicles for 2 drivers (the wife and myself). We like having both a SUV and a sedan in the garage.
I drive both, but she mainly drives her's (Accord-V6, 2014-MDX, and now the Audi-Q5e).

We traded my 1994-Accord 2-dr coupe for the 2014-MDX. I started driving the 2004 Accord-V6 (because it has low miles, runs fine, fast, etc.).
She was also was pretty excited about the 2021-TLX .

Sorry about the newbie TPMS questions. I like tires/wheels but I've never swapped them myself (I just pay technicians).
I understand now. Looks like you just need Acura sensors (and they will also fit custom wheels) and you might have to pay dealer to re-program with proprietary computer/device.

There's a half dozen or so of you supposed performance enthusiast millenials whose primary purpose on this forum is to bash the second gen TLX and the people that are interested. It's quite sad that you feel it's your mission to do so, for a brand you clearly won't be purchasing. Imagine the nerve of some people on this forum actually liking Acura and perhaps being happy with what they have, understanding that perfection doesn't exist.

We are all entitled to our opinions, but please understand that your smug opinions mean squat to the vast majority of car buyers out there. I'd suggest that you wait until you see and drive the vehicle, but we know that you are unlikely to let a potentially positive experience inform a good bashing.

All in good fun, right, Boys!
