Has anyone with a TLX Type S PMC had any issues with the ac leaking and not functioning properly? Ours has 1189 miles and has been back to the dealer three times. very frustrating.

It may be an isolated issue unfortunately; not a common issue amongst other TLX Type S owners. I hope they can get it resolved for you.

Number 002 must have been built on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Well what has been determined to be the cause? Is it external damage? Bad installation?

First time it went in to the dealer was about four months after I got it. I have a feeling that it was delivered not working. They recharged it and fortunately put dye in it. A short time later it was not working again and back to the dealer. Keep in mind every trip back to the dealer and they want to put the stupid number "hat" on the roof even though I ask them to put it on the windshield and they scratched the PMC (very soft) paint. They were able to find A leak at the Expansion Valve and replaced it and several O-rings. Hopefully they recharged the system the last time with dye. We shall see.

If my local dealership refused to listen to my request about the service hat, I'd stop going there. That would frustrate me to no end.

Might be the evaporator behind the dash that's leaking. Most dealers won't check that as it requires almost complete dash disassembly. It's the stupid new r1234yf refrigerant which is much more likely to leak from any imperfection vs the older tried and true R134A. It's not just Acura, BMW's are having major issues with this on their G chassis vehicles.

They found the Suction Hose to be leaking. They replaced the hose refilled and actually used n AC Sniffer after and found another leak at the High Side Schrader Valve. They replaced the Schrader Valve and found no other leaks. And yes, they did mention that if it still leaks that would mean tearing into the dash.
