SCAMMER Alert: Beware

Posted this on the TLX forums. Scam originated from facebook. This guy was pretty slick, until his answers started to get confusing and contradictory.

tl;dr - wanted to buy a Type S exhaust. Scammer sent me pictures from a sale from last year. Ready to send money, but his answers got suspicious and I pulled back.

here's the text from the post on TLX Forums.

I almost fell for it. A person is impersonating this fellow: Harrison Derrick - https://www.face book.com/ezzyboy.obinna (note the space)

Said he had a TLX Type S exhaust for sale. Wasn't very direct with his answers. Said he was at the FEDEX store ready to ship. Sent a picture of the FedEx store and this was before we finalized the deal.

Was finally able to get pictures out of him. So I did a reverse lookup on these images, and these were the SAME images found in this thread from last year.

This is why everyone needs to do Paypal Goods and Services for all sales. If the item never shows up, requests a refund, good to go..

The "Im at Fedex/UPS ready to ship" is the scammiest of all scam lines. Immediate red flag.

That one event pushed it over the edge, to tell me - its a scam. When I pulled back from the sale, his next answer was - "I'm an honest guy" (another red flag)

But the 'reverse image' scan on google is a useful tool to see if these pictures the seller sent were pre-existing pictures. The images he sent were found on the TLX forums noted above.
