Is it 304L or 316L, and did you reuse the OEM flanges and flexpipe?

Yes oem flanges we’re used with aftermarket flex

nice dude I work in hillside. We are Deff close enough. I’m sure we will catch up one day. You also have a tlx s? We are safe and sound but man the destruction is crazy. I work for a Honda dealer and we have 40 tow ins, all totaled. And we lost about 35 brand new cars from inventory.

I don't own a TLX-S but have test driven the base and the type-s. I own a supercharged 2004 A-spec 6MT TL which is in show room condition. I also own two G01 (2018+) BMW X3's, one of which is a M40i with mods. Speaking of downpipe, i'm on my 2nd month of waiting for my downpipe to come in.. The day after the storm, after I got done cleaning up my basement, I drove to my job site in Bridgewater. I couldn't believe how many fucking vehicles were abandoned on I-78! it was unreal.. I went to park ave BMW today to schedule my oil change and rear brakes, the autobody lot was FILLED with flooded two in's. My heart sank walking around the lots seeing such vehicles completely gone.. it's a bad week to be in the insurance business..

But at the same time, I feel like people who buy TLXs would be far more inclined to tune their cars than somebody in an RDX. I guess time will tell ...
Interesting they don't support the 2.0T TLX as KTuner says it is essentially identical to the RDX which of course isn't far off from the 2.0T Accord. The only difference in the two engines (RDX vs TLX) is the engine mounting points which is why they are different revisions. Accord and RDX share the K20C4 designation while the TLX is K20C6

To get into the 11s, you will need to replace all major components like turbo, intercooler, valve springs… Im sure you can handle that but it will cost 10k easily and we always have to wonder if the transmission can handle it. It seems to be pretty strong and improved for the type S, but 400+ at the wheels will be hard on the drivetrain.

I feel bad bringing it up because I really love and admire what you are doing. I just couldn’t risk doing that much to a car in that price range.

I do plan on a MDX type s though and would love a down pipe and tune based on 93 octane. If that would get me in the 12s I would be ecstatic.

I was equally as surprised, but apparently, you can't simply use an RDX canned tune on a TLX ... I guess their ECUs are very similar, but not identical. Somebody on their forum asked if it would work and they stated "no" and that they had no plans to ever release one for the 2.0T TLX. Perhaps they're sticking to the Honda market due to the RDX tunes selling very poorly? Still, if there's very little development cost to make a tune for the TLX, it seems like a wasted opportunity.

Absolutely agree. Very informative and useful to fellow TLX owners, unlike most other threads about TLX vs this or TLX vs that, which add no value to this 2G TLX sub-forum.

Knowledge, data, documentation, etc is important imo. Trying to share as much information with the community as possible.

I may have missed it, but what are your next immediate plans? Obviously there’s no tuning solutions available yet or I’m sure many people would jump on that. Will you be leaving the stock exhaust alone? Intercooler replacement perhaps? Loved your video and downpipe is killer!

Tune would be my immediate next move but like you said not available. I’m going to leave exhaust stock or plan to atleast. Intercooler would 100% be my next mod besides tuning capabilities. Also wheels but not without springs first. Honestly whatever is available as it comes out whenever that may be lol.

Bigger intercooler would be a great addition. Like you said, summer heat and Type S don't mix. Now that it's getting a bit cooler car has more zip.
