This is what happens when car makers don't keep up on there offerings that were a success. IE Lexus GS /Acura RLX being canceled. Now Acura has to go in full throttle.

Am I the only who who thinks the taillights kind of look like the one from the BRZ/FRS?

Nope. Until someone mentioned it I didn't see the resemblance. New 4 series is also supposed to look similiar.

I'm ready Acura! I was about to go German but I'm gonna hold off and see what the Type S will be all about. I drove the last TL Type S before I bought my TLX back in 2015; such a fun car. I'm hoping the TT V6 will be beastly!

If the rest of the car looks as good as the rear end does, Acura will have outdone themselves. From the rear, the car looks like a beast! I'm loving it.

I’m so glad they didn’t use the stupid “dragon tail” tail lights like on the RDX and the hideous version on the Accord. It looks awesome from behind. The one thing I really don’t like that was on the concept and will most likely be on the final version is the oversized front badge on the grill. I really think it’s too large. But overall I think this design will be a winner

The new TLX has its own platform. It does not share body with Honda just like how the RDX has it's own platform now.

I’m referring to the current TLX, which somehow has less interior room than the 9G Accord. I would not be surprised if the new TLX will also have less legroom in the back than the RDX, even with the same wheelbase and platform.

As much as I’d love that, the fact that C&D is reporting it will start around the mid-40k mark, to me, is a sign that it won’t be making any jaw-dropping power or performance numbers. Probably somewhere in the projected mid-300HP range.

They said quickest but did not say most powerful sedan in Acura history, so i assume HP will be less than 377 of RLX sport hybrid. I think Acura will leave some margin left so that they can up the hp at MMC to keep up with competition.

with all respect to BMW, the back of the new TLX simply is amazing and better! I think in this category, so far the back of the TLX is the best. Beast is unleashed!

One week to go!

Not to mention the new 4 Series will introduce the new ugly corporate pig snout. Sad really. BMW always had classy looking front fascias but this trend towards large grilles is getting ridiculous.

What do you think the license plate says? I'm sure it won't have the manufacturer "3421" plate.

A sales rep on Reddit is reporting 400 hp and a bit over 400 lb/ft of torque. He/she says they got the info from their corporate rep. I was told back in 2017 the target hp was 400 hp.

If this is true, this might be the first time in history that Acura overdelivered and exceeded expectations. Undercutting and outperforming the competition would be a hell of an accomplishment.

Not bad. Kind of like an ILX grew up and mated with a Subaru BRZ with a splash of the old Infiniti Q50 thrown in.

The RDX platform is pretty much the CR-V platform modified to fit SH-AWD...don't recall it being lengthened, so I suspect the TLX/Accord platforms will be similar in that regard as well

Awesome awesome awesome! ... if it's true. Time will tell. Then again, the Germans always underrate their power so they're likely still making a bit more power than that. Hopefully these cars are receptive to some tuning and maybe even have built internals for some larger turbos ... then again, the drivetrain may be the Achilles heel.

Remember they were bench-marking the C43? Well, that's where they got the dimples on the rear bumper.

I’m liking what I see, and the timing is looking better for me to seriously consider the car. I have been one of their biggest critics the past few years, but I’ve earned the right. In the past 50 years I’ve owned four Honda cars, three Acura’s, eight Honda motorcycles and one Honda lawnmower. If the car runs the quarter mile in the 13 flat/108 mph or better range, with a loaded price of $50,000 or less it would probably be my next car.

Nope. Beginning with 2019, RDX is an all new platform from the ground up.

Me too, but I realize what you get for the price is just ridiculous with Germans so I've been holding off on this and my tlx lease isn't up until late next year

And so is this TLX

I'll probably only drive white from now on, but damn Acura's look so nice in black. I don't know why

So I work at a dealer and were supposed to get info on the 26 which is a couple of days sooner than the public so I cant wait lol I have high expectations for that car. I have a 19 Aspec RDX and its a great driving car. I had a 2015 TLX and the RDX feels much better so if they keep the RDX powertrain on the new tlx for the base models theyre going to be amazing. I cant even imagine the Type S with the bigger engine and all the performance upgrades itll have.

x2 the rdx really is great and the base tlx will be the same setup but in a car instead. It easily needs bigger brakes like the type S is going to get.

the way Acura is though they wont put bigger brakes on the standard models lol they will on the type S though. I hope what they do is have more horsepower than the RDX at least 280 and if they can do 300 torque that would be great. I have a feeling they may have less horsepower than the V6 when they can perfectly do 290 or more which if they do that on the base engine I'd be surprised and that type S model I'd also be surprised if the do 400 Horsepower lol they will most likely do less. But just have to wait and see when they show us next week.
