Crashed TLX Type-S 6 days ago...

https://streamable.com/vcm2h2

exhaust sounds nice either on the TLX-S or the car ahead it's chasing. Loved the "contacting emergency services" at the end

lol, just like video game. Interestingly the CMBS did not seem to kick in, maybe the driver disabled it?

love the "oops"

and just now noticed it's three people in the car, presumably the rear seat passenger isnt wearing a seat belt considering he's in the middle seat

Good solid hit, car barfed up its coolant. Lucky the backseater did not do a windshield eject.

Sigh....well that didn't take too long.

Can we make it a rule where if a dumbass crashes a sporty car...that they are only allowed to drive cars that's 20% or lesser powerful/sporty than what they crashed? (for like 3 years or something....)

Looked like he was racing a C7??

I don't think he's in the middle seat. He appears to be sitting behind the front passenger (notice how the phone's camera is tilted).

Good luck getting a replacement Type S!

Morons, putting others' lives in danger and just ruined someone else's night (hopefully the other occupants were okay, that was a hard hit).

Looks like the street racer chose to flex in traffic and got brake checked by an SUV that didn't want to play along. Stupid games, stupid prizes.

I assume he was belted. AFAIK all Honda/Acuras with three seats have a middle belt. My TL has one, although the middle "seat" is a joke.

Chances are that's the first one to be wrecked. Kinda makes that one a special TLX-S, it came in first at something, hope they fix it up to keep in a museum.

I traveled to long island to buy some Vossens for my X3 M40i. I had no choice but to travel through that god forsake Lincoln Tunnel and on the way back the GWB. I avoid going into the city at all costs with the Vossens being an exception. The same type of fuck boy driving I saw heading towards Long Island was insane. I was surprised I didn't see multiple accidents to and from. Just that one time heading in is enough times for the next 10 years. I hate going into NYC

I also dread going into the city as well. One good thing about COVID is that it effectively ended my commute into the city. The place was a cesspool prior to the pandemic and it’s far worse these days.

According to some of the loyal Acura fans here and on FB group, "nobody" is buying the TLX or TLX-S and racing it. Soo.. when will these users start eating their own words? At this rate, the fuckboys in NYC will send these vehicles to the scrap yard way before they even hit one year ownership

You should be able to view them. if not, i'll see if I can host them and upload the videos.

EDIT:

I just tried it on my mobile. If it asks, open with internet. I was able to view it via internet mode without being logged in to IG

Depending where you live in NJ (I think you're north NJ). 287 is one of my fav place to stretch the M40i when I was leaving family near montville around 10-11 at night.

No, mainly driving around central, mostly secondary roads which when you get on them without anyone around are enjoyable with all the turns and stuff. 95 is ok as well as traffic is usually light and not a whole lot of traps normally, at least the stretch heading into Pa.. 195 towards the short points are so heavily patrolled it's too risky even with the R7 to really go with anything more than the flow.

Just like Garden state Parkway South after the bridge in South Amboy... Especially now during the summer season. I wouldn't be caught anywhere near the damn parkway south on a Friday (especially with this heat wave) during the summer season.

Jesus H. Christ. First, why would you drive like that on the Jackie? Second, the driver in the Type-S can't drive for shit. He'll wind up crashing sooner than later. Hopefully he only kills himself. Just all the more reason I'm so goddamn happy I don't have to commute into that cesspool of a city anymore.

Welcome to NYC.. It's such a mess over there. 1010 WINS has been reporting drivers are speeding more than ever before since Covid and accidents / deaths are on the rise. For the life of me I don't understand why anyone would spend their hard earn money to drive their vehicle beyond reckless like that.

In that kind of traffic that doesn't make much sense. Seems like partially a case of overestimating both what the new car was capable of as well as driving ability. I couldn't even tell if he even hit his brakes when he was boxed in. Racing or chasing (whatever it was) in traffic like that never a good idea. Certainly not totaled but no longer a new car by any means.

I couldn't even tell if he even hit his brakes when he was boxed in. Racing or chasing (whatever it was) in traffic like that never a good idea. Certainly not totaled but no longer a new car by any means.
If they bothered to look up simple stats, they would know that the Type S has pretty awful stopping distance. IIRC, it stops only 12 ft ahead of the 2.0L TLX in 70-0 MPH (which doesn't have Brembos).

Cars with performance aspirations should stop on a dime but this one doesn't!

Maybe the weight is just to much to get a shorter stopping distance. I was surprised at the 70-0 distance being what it was. Maybe they also should have gone with 6 or 8 piston calipers rather than the 4 piston brembos given the cars heft.
