Welp one less competitor and many of us have been talking about the demise of the Genesis G70 and now it's official that it won't be continuing on in any form:

Lol get your Sedans new while you still can! Sedans are biting the DUST
What does it mean if the TLX is the last of the premium class to go? That it was the best one and survived this long or that Acura waited too long to pull the plug as other makes saw the writing on the wall sooner?

Googled this topic to see if Genesis or Hyundai has made any official announcement regarding canceling the G70 specifically, and could only find the Korean car blog post referenced above. Certainly, the clock is ticking on it but I wouldn't get the shovels out just yet.

It's not official yet but I think they will chop it. It's a matter of time. Their G80 is big in Korean and Russian market. They will keep the G80 for sure.

Yeah "official" was probably not the best word but I did also find that the G70 wasn't being mentioned in a recent RFQ which goes out to suppliers about future production so there's evidence here to support it's probably a wrap.
But I did read that Kia may be bringing back the Stinger (but of course it looks like it would be in EV form) so who knows what the future may bring.
Correct! People are waiting months to get their car. I am still confused what's the issue with Honda/Acura. Their production is slow. As per Acura: "Acura brand sales total 10,847 units in October with strong demand despite supply issues for key model. Acura sedan sales topped 2,000 units despite limited supply."
With the new EV development, ADX and next gen RDX, we have to wait and see!
Not building cars, can't get any spare parts... We've been waiting almost 3 months for a new windshield for our '24 MDX with no ETA in sight.
Thats awful, and I am sure you absolutely hate that your paying monthly on a car you can't drive (assuming the windshield is cracked to a point that makes it unsafe to drive without replacing it immediately)

The car is still drivable, but there are two huge stone chips in the centre of the windshield at the top and bottom. The next morning there was an enormous crack between both of them vertically in the middle of the windshield. Not in the driver's view, but it looks awful. If it were bad enough to render the car undriveable I would be raising hell with Acura. This will be the 3rd windshield in Honda/Acura products I've had to put into our cars in under 3 years. Have never had this issue with other brands.
With the current sedan market, there is very little room for TLX and Integra! It makes sense if TLX gets chopped and Acura focuses on Integra only! TLX will be replaced by some EVs.
It will be difficult for Japanese and Korean to compete. Germans were successful and will remain successful....they have the money and global market. Fair!
Actually, the Germans are not doing well these days. They clung hard to ICVs and are very late to get with the EV markets while the EU countries are banning ICVs from inner cities.
Thanks to trade wars with China and the EU planning new tariffs on Chinese EVs they are losing the big market share the had in China while China has been eating their lunch money in the EU.
Japanese and Korean companies are losing sales around the globe thanks to the cheap Chinese cars. They aren't a thing here in the US yet, but they are coming. They are building factories in the EU and Mexico to get around the tariffs.

My pilot has a crack about 3" down from the top that extends from left of the mirror all the way to the right A post.
A bigger problem is a recall. I got a letter in February saying it was being recalled, but there were no parts so I had to wait. In May I got a follow-up letter saying there were still not enough parts but there should be in the Fall.
Fall has fallen, but it's [crickets] from Honda.

Well said and thanks for your input. Once these factories are built, problem is here I am sure Chinese cars will be like Hyundai and Kia used to be.
Now @Tony Pac no sales updates for the TLX? This thread been dead for months now haha
Sorry brother! I have been very busy with work and family and as you cans see I haven't been very engaged! Will bounce back soon and revive this thread and many more
Now @Tony Pac no sales updates for the TLX? This thread been dead for months now haha
Perhaps no report because no sales at all? Chuckle chuckle...
Seriously though; my dealership where I go for maintenance has seemingly had the exact same stock of 4-cylinder TLX's for months. Mainly white and silver and one pretty damn gorgeous red one
That's an odd thing to say. It's almost like saying "people are really going to miss Betamax (or HD-DVD, etc.)"!
It's not. The average driver only needs the 4banger and it will look great even 10yrs from today. The Type-S will be sought after just like the 3G TL TYPE-S. Time will tell the story. See you in 2035 to refresh this thread lol.

Which means I wanna see you pick up another Type-S before that time. I think Gold and Red will be the rarest colors therefore the most desirable on the trim level

I don't know. 10 years from now, a car that only gets 22-23 mpg (as my 4-cylinder did in mixed driving) is not going to age well in a world most likely populated by hybrids and EVs.
I consider the BYD "5-minute charging" EV car a huge breakthrough. Now if they could only solve the range problem...
You beat me! I was going to post this....ZDX is heavily discounted tbh! I can confirm one thing that people will miss TLX!
Agreed, discounting PLUS EV rebate has definitely favored the ZDX. ZDX deals like this can be compelling:
If it wasn't so GM, I might have picked up a ZDX Type S instead of the i4. (Granted, it would never be able to kick Scat Pack butt the way my M50 can. )

not quite related but from reading up on all this tariff stuff re:components it's interesting to see that the TLX Type S's engine is actually made in Japan (I thought it was American-built). See the 2024 list.. https://www.nhtsa.gov/part-583-ameri...ng-act-reports

Yup I took another look at my Window Sticker I have framed and 15% of the car is composed of Japanese parts and it turns out the be the V6 Turbo Engine! But if I remember correctly looking at Acura's Type-S history the engine was developed solely at the honda plant in Japan.
So makes sense the engine is manufactured there and shipped over to Marysville, Ohio for final assembly/placement into the Type-S's Engine bay
This will be very beautiful if we see a spike on TLX Type-S's market value on the used side

OMG! Just went to the website. There's $19k of rebates available if you lease a ZDX. Lol! Daggone1 Almost makes it worth it if they weren't having issues with the whole charge thing.

Yeah, I don't love the ZDX but the 'economics' here make it very enticing!!
Oh, I don't know, maybe production hasn't ramped up fully and dealerships are charging ADM as they are wont to do?
Locally there are only 19 ADXs around here. For comparison, there are 15 TLXs. Yes, almost as many TLXs available as ADXs. That's how short in supply they are.

ADM on the new ADX = folks migrating to the Germans...often w/decent discounting as the entry-level SUV (X1, GLA, etc.)!
Is that the latest on it all? I thought reports were that production was going to end in July?
Well some one who is allegedly an Acura Dealership employee of sorts posted on reddit that there will be 2026 TLX based on some HALO list from acura allegedly might I add.
Ofcourse I would take it with a grain of salt until Acura puts out a press release stating the TLX is going for another year or not
There's going to be a TLX "SE" trim that takes away many important things. It won't sell either so they can do the usual Honda/Acura and say see, no one wanted it

This comment is objectively hilarious given how easily people here latched onto rumors that the TLX was being killed off. Amazing.
