2021+ Acura TLX owners yearly income?

Poll for curiosity personally looking to buy a car 0-2 years from now. I was interested in the integra but after test driving definitely preferred the Acura tlx. I will be going to test drive again and also a tlx type s.

I love cars and could afford one but the cheap side of me knows financially it’s not the best decision.

I am going to try to post a poll but curious roughy yearly salary and trim levels people have bought

HitTheNOS 10-01-2022 09:05 AM

There is no option for 150k-200k

fiatlux 10-01-2022 10:07 AM

Methinks you need more specificity for the 200K+ crowd.

I mean, there's a big difference between $200K and $1M

Based on the real reason you started the poll, it wouldn’t matter unless you want to know if someone is making 300k or 2m specifically which wouldn’t weigh in on a 50k purchase being financially viable.

Keep in mind that people may have multiple vehicles with higher salaries.

What about the $150k to $200k range. How come we can't vote for that?

I would’ve just rounded it

“People who buy an Acura don’t have the pockets to buy german” a naive user once said.

Meanwhile, half of the TLX owners are in the 200k+ salary range….😆

Because people never lie on the internet. I make $200k/day and Gisele is taking a break from Tom Brady because of me.

We literally caught two people make accounts on here who were blatantly lying about owning a TLX Type-S. One was such a sociopath (and likely an alter ego of a regular member) that they lied about having over a million dollar worth of cars in their stable at any given time, and how they picked their TLX-S over their Porsche Turbo S (I think I got that right) because it was so good to drive. These are some antics you'd think you only see in middle school, but they're being done by full grown adults in the Honda/Acura circles. Pitiful.

It’s an anonymous poll…no benefit of lying.
But I get it, two imaginary people got caught lying by private investigators so now everyone’s a liar.

Where was I for that one? I really would've had a good laugh at that lmao. Why lie about owning a TLX? I figured that would happen on forums for more highline cars such as Planet-9 (911/718/Boxster forum), GTRLife, LamborghiniTalk, McLarenLife forums etc. but I guess not

KidK 10-02-2022 01:27 AM

People become rich / wealthy because they aren’t “mad at their money”! Personally I drive Acura products because A - I worked for Honda a long time ago and appreciate the attention to detail, and B - I don’t need my wife followed home because of her car.

Additionally, I’d prefer to live within my means and Acura allows me to do that.

Please. I literally proved that people are capable of lying even behind a wall of anonymity. Nobody said everyone is a liar, but clearly it happens. But I suppose that’s to be expected from someone who takes this statistically insignificant poll to be infallible and indisputable fact.

One was easy to flush out. He was talking about how he raced around his neighborhood and the bored house moms swooned at his Type-S as he flew past their homes. The other one sounded more legitimate, until he started pushing it. Talking about how his car stable consisted of 7-figures and talking about all the high end cars he’d owned in his life. He quickly disappeared once called out.

So he’s lying because he no longer cares about posting on these forums? To be fair, I don’t blame him. On the CTR forums, we have DYI threads or discussions about components such as linear vs progressive springs or analyzing datalogs; then we have people here talking about magazine articles and TV commercials who probably never changed oil or a tire for that matter.

I understand that the demographics are different between the cars but sometimes it feels like a C&D article comment section versus an actual community. A simple thread asking if it’s possible and if so how to remove the rear A brace turned into a personal opinion thread instead of helpful DYI.

Correct about what? I wasn’t the one that started with the arguing in case you haven’t noticed. I say it as it is, if people can’t handle it, avoid the internet. Sounds like you were wrong, again.

But I get it, you have a chip on your shoulder from a previous thread. 😉. Grudges are never healthy to hold.

Kense 10-02-2022 04:10 PM

Wrong? Chip on my shoulder? You’re in every thread with an attitude problem.

If you think that’s an attitude, don’t go outside, especially in NY.

I have my resources. Yes, he was lying.

And you bring up a fair point. Nobody is tracking their TLX Type-S because it just doesn't belong on one. And datalog what exactly? They still don't have tuning available for the TLX-S and from what I've seen, the 10AT/SH-AWD in the 2.0T can only handle ~360wTQ before slipping.

I've posted a few DIY threads on how to change the transmission and transfer case fluid on the 3G RDX. I also solved the rattle in the panoramic sunroof caused by the windguard (and somebody posted a YT video without giving me credit). But yes, Acura isn't going to attract the most automotive adept crowd, but that also says a lot about the products they've been putting out. The Type-S was a chance to change that ... but instead, they just kept the same loyalists and everyone outside looking in basically left. You now even see Honda fanboys turning against & ragging on Acura and the Type-S in YouTube Comment Land.

You don’t need to be on a track to datalog, nor do you need to be tuned. It’s great for tracking temps, knock, and other useful information, even on a stock car.

Seems to me that it would be a pretty bad financial decision, but then again I’m pretty financially conservative.

If you’d like, I can start adding smile emojis in my messages so you don’t get bothered by me sounding mean again.

Income is an interesting concept when you are fortunate enough to be retired as I am. Last year I bought by a big margin the most expensive house I’ve ever bought despite having very little income.

That’s awesome, congratulations on retirement and the new house! Did you get the house before the housing market prices exploded, I was lucky enough to find and buy my “forever home” right before the rise of prices.

I also grew up in Queens. Most non-NYC folks reference is TV or movies. Lol.

Agreed. Grew up in the Bronx. Totally miss the food and the events, the people and hells gate not so much. Much more to do with a boat in sunny Florida! 😎

That's the thing, Again nobody cares about you "sounding mean", it's your sarcastic know it all I'm the defender of everything Acura responses that always get you into back and forth arguments with people. If your behavior was normal you wouldn't constantly be in every thread every day defending yourself. Think I'm lying? Go look in any thread about the Type S and you're right there arguing with somebody.

Legend2TL 10-04-2022 03:43 PM

Knock it off those of you in these personal attacks!

Yes, please knock off with the personal attacks. They will not be tolerated!

On topic — I won’t say how much I make but I will say investments are how I afforded my Type S and paid it off within 3 months. 😉

Crypto is amazing.

Do you always resort to personal attacks when you don’t agree with someone? That’s petty.

I’m not sure how often you follow my posts, but I follow up with facts versus just throwing personal insults to other members. Debating with someone is not the same as being hostile or having an attitude. Take this conversation as an example, you are disagreeing with someone and took the time to go join the thread to go off-topic to personally insult me. Seems hypocritical.

The closest I get to an insult is throwing sarcastic jokes, which nearly every member here is guilty of. Meanwhile, your post history is full of head-on insults to specific members.

Was this really a post filled with attitude or “defending”? I think I even see a laughing emoji!
