smallest recommended size I saw was 17's .. if you go 16 it will be a matter of finding the tire size to match the oem overall diameter

If the wheels will fit without contacting the discs then it will be ok. Just get a suitable tire that matched the dimensions of the OEM 17" or 18" wheels.

I was just wondering the same thing. 17 is the smallest size stock and the spare is a 17, but that doesn't mean a 16 wont fit. They are much cheaper and more plentiful too. 16" wheels from an Accord are a dime a dozen lol.
