Will 2015 tlx TPMS work on 2018 tlx?

Recognize that 2018 provides a form of fill assist. Will 2015 TLX TP sensors provide basic pressure function if installed on 2018 TLX on my snows?
A 10 minute drive with one 2015 sensor equipped snow tire installed did not change the pressure on display from that displayed with 2018 rims on car.
Thanks

Unfortunately they do not, I found this out the hard way. Traded in my 2015 so I had the dealer move my 19" rims to the 2018. While driving home from the dealership the TPMS error came on. Dealer found that the TPMS sensor part numbers are different on the 2018 so I had to purchase all 4 wheel sensors and now everything works. I kept the 2018 stock rims for my winter tires so both sets of wheels have 2018 TPMS sensors.

2018 - 42753-T6N-A01
2015 - 42753-TZ3-A51

you just saved me a bunch of money. Thanks for this! I ordered new wheels and paid the extra $300 for TPMS. I canceled the order just now since they said they didn't have sensors for the 2018. I guess I just have to swap them out from my stockies. That's what I get for being lazy the first time!

Happy to help, I paid $56 dealer retail price for each sensor plus dealer labor to replace the sensors, re-mount the tires and balance. It was an expensive experiment. The 2018 sensors are now available on several OEM Acura Dealer Parts websites for under $40 each. If you're pulling them off the stocks, it might not be a bad idea to install new sensor valve seals to avoid air leaks, part number is 42756-TP6-A81, just a precaution from my experience.

I'm surprised they're different, not like much has changed

Good info to know. I didn't even know the 18's had the fill assist feature. Id still like to think the older sensors would still work, just not the fill assist notification.

I ended up getting OEM replacements online for $162 shipped. I'll end up saving money in the end. Thanks again!

Will the ‘18 sensors relearn themselves? Or will the dealer have to reprogram? Have some wheels I picked up and purchased new sensors. Thanks!

The car self-learns the sensors. There are initiators mounted in each wheel well that trigger each sensor every time the car is started and driven a couple of hundred feet. Here's a description of the initiators from the service manual: "The initiators are mounted on the top of each wheelwell. When the vehicle is turned to the ON mode, the initiators send an LF (low frequency) band wave signal to the tire pressure sensor, switching them from sleep mode to normal function mode. When the vehicle is turned to the OFF (LOCK) mode, the sensors switch from normal function mode back to sleep mode to extend their battery life."

Great, thank you!

Good work. The 2018 tlx awd has 42756-TP6-A01 tpms not 42756-TP6-A81 which is just washer like subpart.

Top five dislikes:

1. The ZF9. I won't go on about it. https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/ugh.gif I want a manual transmission. Yesterday.
Use manual mode.

2. Auto stop. I hate it when it activates just as I'm shifting into reverse to park. Is it really that much trouble to program it not to activate when trying to reverse. I mean, REALLY? Major hate.
Don't blame you. Reverse the relay.

3. Dual screen. Now that I've seen the RDX's single screen setup, it's time for the TLX to adopt the same. I'm used to the dual screen but now recnogize that there's better. However, this is a very minor quibble IMO.
Wait until next gen.

4. Fuel economy. This is a minor quibble, but my lst two Acura products have not come even close to the advertised mileage. Then again, I don't drive like the proverbial grandma.
What are you averaging?

Wow I totally posted in the wrong thread. Fail :(. This infinite scroll feature on AZ really sucks

^Amen! I try scrolling up to get to the AZ header and it keeps automatically loading the previous thread page. Or I scroll down and find myself reading a different thread before realizing what happened.
