Upgraded wheels and tires (19")

Just upgraded my summer setup to 19" wheels with Continental DWS-06 tires (245/50). Car looks good and feels much better on the road. I'll post more pictures once I have a chance to wash the car.

whoa, those look great! What are they? I haven't seen anything like that on any Acuras, did you just replace the center caps with Acura center caps.

Thanks. The wheels are from RWC Wheels:
RWCWheels.com | Wheel Collection

Luckily, the center caps from my 18" OEM wheels fit perfectly (even the color matches nicely).

Those are some nice looking wheels.

How do you like the DWS-06 (245-40 R19) so far? I got the same tires and they are far superior to the OE tires (Bridgestone). I even bought a matching Continental spare.

Thanks. After only 2 days with the DWS-06's, I'm really impressed with the overall improvement in the car's handling and steering feel. I was running Bridgestone Blizzaks during the winter and surprisingly had seen very little change in going from the OE tires to the Blizzaks last fall (i.e. little to no loss compared to OE tires on dry pavement). With the DWS-06's, I assume that both the new size (245/40/19) and better tires contribute to the improvement. I don't understand why Acura didn't go with this type of setup in the first place - I'm certain the car would have gathered more positive reviews from automotive journalists...

I've been experimenting with the tire pressure, and 34 front and 36 rear works best for me.

Just saw this thread and I'm only popping in to say, I really like those wheels you put on. It's not often I see aftermarket wheels that seem like they were made for the TLX/Acura ... these are definitely one of them and are definitely an improvement over my stock 18's. One question : the website you linked don't show 19's in that style for the TLX. The 19's are for the MDX/RDX that they're showing. They fit?

That seems odd. I do almost exactly the reverse, 35 front and 33 rear, and the extra psi in the front help balance the additional weight in corners, whereas keeping the rear softer helps with ride quality without impacting grip. I have the 19" OEM wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s.

Thanks Rocketsfan. The company website information seems incomplete - the wheels fit very well (even the Acura OEM center cap is a perfect fit).

I noticed a thinner sidewall on these Conti's, actually ended up bending 2 wheels over the course of 2 months. I switched them out and went with BFGoodrich Comp 2's, thicker sidewall should protect my wheels more!

Love the look of these though! Much better than the stock 18's.

Great looking wheels. Really does fit with the car, and I'm not an aftermarket type of guy, but they really go nicely with the car.

I've have the same setup except different wheels: tlx_tsw-rouge

I love the Conti ExtremeContact DWS S06 compared to the OEM tires... night and day. I even got the Acura spare tire kit and mounted a Conti spare. And 34 front / 36 rear seems to balance it out nicely as I don't have rear seat passengers too often. My old slight regret is that the OEM centercap didn't fit, but the tire shop made me some that doesn't look bad, although it's a high quality decal with clearcoat rather than the OEM raised emblem. If I did it again, I'd probably go with an OEM centercap compatible rim too. FYI, I read that if you trade in your car with aftermarket rims they cannot sell it as certified pre-owned.
