I may want to revisit the spare tire thing

After a long travel over the week-end in rural area. I got a flat tonight and thanks to the Acura display, I made it home. It was a slow leak.

My problem is that my garage air compressor being down because of a broken fitting, I used the Acura small air compressor from the trunk. Despite it was a slow leak (again), I was never able to build enough pressure. I swapped with one of my summer wheels.

This could have spoiled our week-end if it happened a few hours before....

Time to carry a wheel in my trunk again (like I was doing in my Bimmer)..

I'd like to find a bargain price on a spare for my TLX myself...

This has been nagging me since I got it. I've been on the fence about picking up a spare. Let us know if you find a good deal somewhere. . .

It wouldn't have changed a thing but that wasn't quite a real flat.

It happened a few minutes after I slided for fun and my rear wheel barely touched the side of the road (covered with snow).

No mark on the wheel or tire, it was nothing violent. A gentle tap at very slow speed.

But apparently enough, so the tire's sidewall came off the wheel for a glimpse, and some ice/snow got squeezed in, explaining the pressure loss.

I removed the wheel, let it thaw indoor overnight. I put it back and finally everything was tight and some pressure was possible.

One thing I could have done if I was away is to use the filling product included with it. Maybe it would have saved the day. Or not.

I’m looking into a spare as well. I’ve changed too many flats to go with a compressor and a can of fix-a-flat.

stealership quoted me $440 to install a new spare tire kit, and $300 for just all the parts but no tire. It looks easy enough to do. Just not in sub@0- freezing temperatures.

Shouldn't be optional on any car; it's essential
get a blowout & find out the hard way; especially on Sundays; lol
Anyway, made sure to include the donut spare in my 2015 TLX, & my new 2018 A-Spec
ALWAYS make the donut an ESSENTIAL part of any purchase or lease deal
Actually picking it up Saturday at the dealer; backordered
