2018 TLX Aspec AWD Tire Question
I have a 2018 TLX Aspec AWD. Today while washing the car I noticed that my driver's side front and driver's side rear have bulges in the tire. The bulges are located in the sidewall. I am willing to bet this is a result of hitting a pothole, but I'm note entirely positive. I did a quick google search online and it sounds like I need to replace both tires because this is extremely unsafe to drive. My question is do I have to replace all four tires or can I get a way with only replacing two? I only have just under 20,000 miles on all four tires.
I thought I remember reading when buying the car that the rear tires are slightly wider than the fronts. Is this true? Or am I misremembering this? If this is the case, I would assume that confirms I need to replace all four tires. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. |
The tires have a warranty from the tire manufacturer, give them a call.

Yes call the tire manufacturer but this is why I am amazed that car manufacturers continue to equip cars with these low profile tires that cannot hold up with the terrible conditions on many roads.
I really wanted to lease a 2018 TLX Aspec AWD but living in New York had to pass due to the 40 series tires and ended up leasing a Tech AWD with 50 series tires. While I am very careful and avoid most potholes they do sometimes appear out of nowhere and I have been happy on several occasions to not have had any issues after hitting several. Then Acura for 2019 for some strange reason outfitted all 6 cylinder AWD models including the Tech and Advance with the 40 series tires. As much as I enjoy my 2018 I would not consider a TLX with them. |
As far as I know, Michelin, will NOT warranty tires with bubbles from potholes; tire insurance will
In NYC, insurance should be mandatory, because the streets are piss poor |
