Cooled Seats - 2018 TLX ASPEC

Hi Group - What are you thoughts on the cooling seats? When I first purchased my car I feel like I noticed the cooling seats more. Now it seems like it doesn't work that well. Could a fan have broken in the seat? I'm not even sure how the cooling seats work but in high mode it's just not feeling like it's working that well. Was thinking of bringing it into the dealership but I thought I'd check here first.

Thanks in ADVANCE.

i actually forgot to post this, under the seat where the fan is there is a bubble sheet connector directly on it. i removed it and now the bottom on the fan is exposed and i feel a lot cooler in my seat when ventilation is on. I'm trying it out for a couple of days to see if it make a difference but as of now it seems to.

I love to try removing bubble sheet connector. Would you share a picture or location where connector is located?

I can share my experience once I try it as I use my A-Spec with ventilated seat everyday.

It's going be hard to get a pic but what you need to do is move the seat forward, on the driver side the fan will be closer to the center console and passenger same thing. feel under and you will feel some bubble wrapping over the fan you will need to grasp, turn and pull down to snap it off. so far i feel cooler in my seat when its one since there is no restriction for airflow.

few questions for you.

- first of all, how did you know that there is a bubble wrapping over the fan?
- does the bubble wrapping installed for some purpose by Acura? Do you know?
- so do I need to be accessing the bubble wrap from rear seat? correct?

I think it may be for noise reduction because the fans are a little louder, I was curious where the fan were and I saw there was a huge bubble wrap thing under it so i wanted to test it out for a week removed, so far so good. more air is allowed to escape now so its breathing better. i wish there was a way to reverse polarity so the fans can blow cool air. both fans are in the front corners of the seats.

Can you post a pic of what you removed?

I was curious about this bubble wrap and took a pic myself. It’s definitely an air filter. I’m sure this is installed for sound deadening and dust filtration. One may get increased airflow right away with this filter removed but there are small airways in the seat that will get clogged up over time without it.
