I recently purchased a used 2018 TLX that has a capless fuel filler neck. Which was a cool feature until it started evaporating gas fumes and sending error messages to the dashboard
like check engine, emissions and parking brake problem. In speaking with Acura Service they say the fuel filler neck needs to be replaced for about $800. This seems like an odd repair for a car with 37k
My question is have other people had problems like this with Acura's capless fuel filler sytem and if yes how did you reolve it?
Same thing happened to me with my 2018 MDX. Electric brake light and emmisions system failure notices because of a leaky filler fuel neck. I have spent $150k on three MDX vehicles so I figured Acura would take care of it even though the 4 year warranty had recently expired. After all, there were only 20k miles on the vehicle. No dice. Had to cough up $800 for the repair and another $250 for the "diagnostic" . Acura did nothing. Sounds like an Acura enginerring problem to me. One thing for sure, this one is my last MDX.
