Help!!!

I leased a brand new 2018 TLX A Spec AWD (Black with Red Interior). Had it about a week or so with less than 400 miles on it. Tonight, I pull in my driveway, put on the brakes, then finish a phone call. About three minutes later, I get an error for the cruise control. Then, errors for transmission, emergency break, breaking system, off road mitigation system, impact warning system and two or three other systems flashed. The car starts, but will not go in gear at all. Road side assistance came, but said he couldn’t tow to the dealership (needed a flatbed and that might not work).

I traded out of a 2015 TLX that never gave me an ounce of trouble. Confused and frustrated. Need some advice before anger takes over.

Sounds like it may be a low battery issue. Rings a bell with other TLX years having the same problem. Scary though, stupid reaction from car.

I have seen this exact thing happen to a handful of Honda/Acura products. Usually within the first 1000 miles. Most likely a glitch in the computer system. First thing I would do is disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer. If you do that and still get the messages, the car is going to need to go to the dealer for further testing. Like I said, I seen this a few times before and its never been anything serious.

I've seen two times where people had those same symptoms on new ASpecs. Ended up being a blown fuse for the battery fan. I didn't even know the battery had a fan. Lit up the dashboard like a Christmas tree and wouldn't let you go into Neutral.

The video is exactly what’s happening with my car. Tow truck can’t get it. Have to have dealership come to my house. What if this had happened on the road 100 miles from home? Is there a quick way for me to fix this?

What if it happens again. This is extremely frustrating for a brand new car.

FYI, the fireworks display where it shows nearly everything failing seems to be a symptom of various things on this forum. It's happened to me a couple of times about 6 months apart in my 2015 TLX (not a SH-AWD) and back then it was related to the actuators being the culprit. Others have had it happen and it ended up being something else. In my case and others, the car went into limp mode. "Luckily" it happened to me while I was still in the city limits because I'm not sure what I'd do if I was out on one of my roadtrips. Speaking of which, I need to join AAA. lol.

If anyone else is reading this, don't just assume that turning the car off and back on again and having all the errors disappear means "it's ok to drive". When it happened to me, I turned the car off and restarted it about 3 or 4 times if I recall before the errors went away, but like I said, there were still real issues that needed to be repaired despite the fact it seemed like the errors "went away".

Good luck and come back and post what the issue(s) ended up being.

My issue seems to be the blown battery fan fuse. Sorry for taking such a long time to post. Two concerns: 1. Is this going to be a recurring issue and 2. The way the situation was handled. Here's the chronology:
Wednesday Night:
8:20 called roadside assistance
8:30 called dealership (10 mins. from my house) they told me to pick up a loaner when tow truck arrives
9:05 tow truck arrives and explains they can't tow a AWD the won't go in neutral - sending flat bed
9:15 pick up loaner
10:00 call roadside back to get status - they inadvertently cancelled the truck sending another
11:00 call roadside again. They state they made a mistake and that the car can't be towed at all if it can't go in neutral. Also, said dealer would have to come to my house to fix the car (WTF)
Thursday morning:
7:30 AM: at dealership. They tell me to go home and put car in "car wash mode". I explain it wouldn't work they said it would
7:45 try car wash mode. It doesn't work.
Had a work responsibility from 8-9:30
9:30 called roadside at dealership - they said truck with dolly needed and didn't know why it wasn't sent last night. They will expedite.
9:35 . dealer advises that they have a preferred tow truck that they trust. Advised me to cancel roadside - I did
10:45 dealer tow truck arrives and says he can't do it and call roadside
11:00 call roadside
11:45 tow truck arrives and takes car in 15 minutes
5:00 dealer tells me what's wrong and that car will be ready next day

And then people wonder why Acura is not among the best on surveys or service lists. It's for shit like this, very un-luxury or even premium like.

Is the reason why it wouldn't go into neutral because of the electronic push button gear selector?

I suppose that the blown fuse throws off the entire electrical system. Anyone know if this may be a recurring problem? Also, should I press Acura or dealership for some type of compensation?

Picked up my car, today and all seems well. The dealership stepped up and overall responded pretty good, except for the screw up with their tow truck (but that was done to try to expedite). However, Acura roadside screw ups ended up costing me 1/2 day of work.

Will keep updates if anything changes.

Gotta admit I would love my TLX with a manual transmission. Other than that, I like the push button selector (except when the damn thing broke). I got used to the push button pretty quick and not appreciate the ergonomics of the car and simplicity. Plus manual would guarantee wifey doesn’t drive it.

Ine last thing, my loaner was an MDX. Love that vehicle.

Nope, good thing! Wasn’t clear on that. Don’t think she would either way. Strange taste. She has a new Murano, but didn’t like the MDX. Go figure. Again, I’m not fond of SUV’s but I could drive the MDX, really enjoyed it.

I will testing out one of these (MT) in November when they arrive. Might be a great option.

I just saw a video of it last night... I love the torque of my RDX, my TL just doesn't have it...

I feel pretty optimistic about the 2018 Accord!

In an automatic, the traditional shifter is really not necessary. The push button allows for more space and better ergonomics.

I'll wait until they come out to check out. I don't know how that will be without an LSD. I'm spoiled by the SH-AWD.

I've wanted to buy a TLX since 2015. I've had multiple test drives, they were great! I love where the car is positioned in terms of an affordable, lux-ish, sport-ish car! I love the looks, the interior! But every time I get in my homely 9-yr old Accord, it starts, it runs, it does what it's supposed to do. Hard to walk away from that. Maybe I'm a wuss and this is the future of driving, I dunno.
