I put 15% ceramic all around and front is 50% .... Definitely keeps the heat out

Is that Florida? I have 80% on my windshield which is about the darkest I'd go there. 50% is probably asking for trouble. Tint is to dark for my tastes, ever for this part of Texas. Like the car though.

No I live in California and it gets so damn hot and most of the heat comes from the front windshield. I admit it's a little dark but when I roll down my front 2 windows it makes it a little lighter and if I roll back the sunroof it appears much lighter

I agree with Rocket_man in that I think you will be asking for trouble.

pizokk1 08-03-2015 07:58 PM

i had my 2 cars all 5% and got pulled over on boths of them, also live in cali

SweetJazz 08-03-2015 10:50 PM

I think that is a ticket waiting to happen. I also live in CA and that is too dark.

pizokk1 08-03-2015 11:15 PM

yeah that is a straight $50 ticket for tinted windows

Treblig 08-04-2015 05:12 PM

So, is that even legal??

Nope. Not in CA. We can have 35% all around. I have 20% on the rear to help with bright car lights at night.

I used to live in CA. They allow only 70% VLT on the front windows, none on the windshield, the back windows can be anything. Also they require the installer to put a certificate saying what the VLT is.

I lived in SoCal so I never really needed tint, but when I moved to TX, tint is needed for survival.

I think the dark tint on the windshield will attract attention, then the front sides will be obvious.

 I agree and believe the windshield tint is going to be a major attractor of the wrong Kind of attention. I'm also thinking this dark a tint would impair forward vision :dunno:

Even though it looks clean as hell. You're bound to get pulled over. I also live in cali and ALL my friends whom took the risk of tinting their front windshield has gotten pulled over for it.

csmeance 08-06-2015 05:58 PM

why aren't you guys using this stuff? It's "legal" enough to where no one can notice it unlike the OP and probably does a better job than 50% of most films on the market:

DarkTower19 08-07-2015 11:11 AM

:what: are you going to be able to see at night? May not be practical...but it does look good though.

I'm not a big fan of dark tint on light coloured cars
