Hey - that looks really nice! Good Job!

Very nice. One rarely mentioned additional beak problem is that it gets damaged by rock chips. Painting it black and then coating with 3m film is the solution. 3m does not stick to plastic.

When I had the shield on the 4G painted black, the GM of my dealership sent pictures on the new look to the area and regional managers, telling them that they should offer the painted shield as an option. He was told that Acura planned to stick with silver as a standard... *shrug*

Did they not understand the meaning of option

do you have any other angles and in different lighting? it's tough to tell with the sunlight directly hitting it.

MTD....Your TLX looks GREAT and that blacked out grill makes it look even sexier.
Good job!
BTW...What is the red car on the corner of the photo? Looks like a nice one....

Thanks. Because the TLX has other gloss black areas (front bumper, mirrors, b-pillar, rear reflectors) it pulls of the grill very well.
The other car is my wife's 2013 3.8 Genesis Coupe.

Of course, it's entirely up to you, and I think most people are "painting" them with vinyl so it's removable. Also, you may want to consider the fact that the radar module is behind the shield and that may alter the functionality of that.

Been thinking about blacking the shield as well but leaving the chrome trims just so theres contrast. Ive seen a few 4g's and they look nice. Hopefully some1 here takes the plunge so we can all see the end result. Theres some1 in the forum who blacked out all silver/ chrome trims and all i can say is its not for me.

Great Job! That looks like the future...
Great job painting your front grille. That is the way it should have looked coming from the factory. Very athletic, yet classic.
