Also, both the Tein on the TL and the H&R on the S2000 are monotube...I will never go back to twin tube design (had megan and buddy club in the past). They are harsh...and adjusting height is much more complicated. Mono...smooth ride...easy to adjust, robust...

THIS is the way to go.

Not sure which suspension you have on your 3G but the Tein SS on my 4G is twin tube. They say it's better for street use and monotube is more suitable for racing/track use since it dissipates heat faster among other things. All About TEIN | TEIN "Nitouryu" sweeps into Mono-Tube Supremacy Majority of their street series suspension are twin tube design. In fact I'd say all of them are. I believe Megan and Buddy Club are monotube design and not twin tube. My apologizes but I don't want people to get the wrong info. And from what I read online, monotube is more harsh and twin tube is more comfortable for the street.

Where was the original of that shot, Mike? Fantastic but the quality was majorly downgraded!

Here is the production version of the RS-R Sports-I coilover for the 2015 Acura TLX (L4, V6 and SH-AWD). Simply amazing workmanship and quality.

The RS-R coilovers are all Monotube hand assembled systems specifically designed to improve ride quality, performance, and comfort. Utilizing components such as; laser cut upper mounts, hand welded lower brackets, vehicle specific valving, are all assembled by hand to ensure quality and detail.

How does it ride? how does it compare to the RSR springs?

These coilover rides great. They ride a bit more sportier than the RSR lowering springs.

Anything new on the horizon for project stealth bomber tlsex?

Jeremy, I will look into that.... lol

By the way, we found a new home for our White TLX. Sad to let her go but vehicle was getting a bit aged. The good news is, we have a new TLX. Most of the goodies are swapped over. There is a quick shot by my buddy Tony P.

rockstar143 08-03-2015 03:11 PM

Not gonna lie...the white was right.
But the black is just on fire. I'm biased and I know what it takes to keep up that shine a decade later but NOTHING is as rewarding to look at when clean than a black car. A perfect mirror...

Gorgeous...

Damn that's a sweet looking ride Mike! What kind of wheels are on there? I have a black tlx too and was thinking about putting on gold/bronze colored wheels in the future.

rockstar143 08-05-2015 10:32 AM

Dollars to doughnuts they are a variation of Vossen wheels. :toocool:

Hope this will help with your decision. We went with this on our new setup:
Vossen Matte Bronze Vfs2
Front 20x9 +38
Rear 20x10.5 +45

Pirelli P Zero Nero GT
Front 245/30/20
Rear 275/30/20

Lowered by RSR Sports-I coilover

Looks great Mike.

Some photoshop love. Just played with the color scheme on the chrome pieces and added front/side splitters because racecar.

Paint matched grill looks pretty good,
the splitters :shakehead:

Nicely done Jon

skd2k1 08-07-2015 10:18 AM

the black tlx is looking fantastic. I think paint matching some or all of the chrome would be awesome. I assume you'll probably sell the black one at some point too so an alternative would be to use vinyl to black out the chrome. :toocool:

guitarplayer16 08-13-2015 10:37 PM

+1 for vinyl wrapping the chrome black, and leaving the emblem chrome :pimp:

rockstar143 08-14-2015 08:39 AM

having that on my 3G, I can say I absolutely love how it makes the A float on the grill visually. Mike is always open to new ideas!

could be fucking perfection.

rockstar143 08-14-2015 07:28 PM

"Mike Chan" edition TLX on the lot sells for $65K...

I can see it now, on the cover the Sun Sentinel!

SinCityTLX 08-19-2015 11:43 PM

I would love to see a set of 20x10 rear and 20x9 front and 275/30/20 rear with 245/35/20 front tires. Chan Mikes car looks bad ass, but I want a bit more rubber around the wheel lip. I would like to stay with as aggressive as possible offset to fill the wheel wells nicely, but not have to do any fender mods. I do plan to lower about 1"-1.2". I have seen a few TLXs that are running 20s, but none with the size and offset I am trying to verify.

Any ideas as I am VERY interested in buying the 20x10 and 209 VFS1 wheels, but don't have a clue what offsets to get.

rockstar143 08-20-2015 08:23 AM

Then do it and then share it here for the world to see! The man has a lot on his shoulders already! :spanky:

:toocool:

Seriously though...do it.

Why not call Vossen and see what they have to say? Makes sense to call the manufacture since they make the wheels and can tell you exactly the size that will fit your car. :2cents:
