Jordan's Build Thread: 2015 SH-AWD Advance Gray/Black 20" Rims / Aero Kit / + More

About me: I work at Acura dealership in sales in Southern California. I purchased my TLX before I started working for Acura. I am an Acura enthusiast, and most of my family owns Acura's (09 TL 10 TSX 14 RDX 15 TLX 16 TLX). Did you notice we have 2 TLX? I leased a base 4cyl to my girlfriend since she needed a car so we have 2 TLX in the house! I have owned 4 Acura’s myself and I am only 25 years old (1998 RL 2001 TL 2005 RL 2015 TLX).

I absolulty love love love the SH-AWD. Working at Acura I am constantly driving Acura models, and everytime I get in a 2 wheel drive TLX (which is practically daily) I so appreciate the SH-AWD. I put on sticky tires now and the car handles so differently. I can corner very quickly with zero tire squeal which happened all the time with the original tires. No more! They are awesome! Quiet on the freeway, they stick like glue, and my coworker has the exact tires on his SH-AWD TLX and have 30,000 miles on them!

To answer your questions, no transmission issues, it shifts great (except in Sport + it can get a little jerky at lower gears). I don't mind the 9 speed, however, being that I drive the 4cyl almost daily at the dealership plus my girlfriend has the 4 banger I must say the 8 speed is SOO much better. The dual clutch is night and day different. When in the 4cyl I use Sport + and paddle shifters all the time and it is so much fun while with the V6, I rarely use the paddle shifters.

Overall I love my TLX. Its a luxury sedan on the highway because it is quiet, smooth, comfortable, and has ton of great features. On the backroads and canyons, you put it in Sport + and it turns into a fun to drive sports car.

Oh and I got to drive the 2017 Acura NSX on a 30 minute extended drive. WOAH. It is so much fun, the all wheel drive gives it amazing control and the electric motors give it instant torque. I am so impressed!

Photos taken on Pacific Coast Highway 1 in-between Malibu and Santa Monica (see navigation picture). Photo Credits go to my awesome girlfriend! Photo of my TLX and her Fathom Blue Pearl TLX shown in the last photo!

Not sure of the offset. I can get back to you on that. Zero rubbing, fitment is immaculate. Sits flush against the fenders with 1 finger gap and no rubbing, I am very pleased.

I like the car! Acura should have left the exhaust open instead of tucking it.

Thanks for posting the navigation picture. I was getting a little concerned that you weren't taking pictures where you said you were.

HAHA yeah i thought it would be a nice little touch to add the photo! BTW BeezleTL85 I must say our cars look VERY similar. Graphite luster metallic, aero kit, spoiler, roof spoiler, and our rims are similar too! You must have good taste!

Haha, you too! Yeah man, your new 20's definitely make them look very similar now. You still got AWD over me Looks good

If my stuff would stop being delayed overseas, then I can switch it up so we don't have to look the same very much longer
