Clear Acura TLX Tail Lights and Reflectors
Ok so here goes for awhile now iv'e been thinking about what my next mod would be so I came up with this idea Ive done alot of research on how to make these from scratch. It's a long process and it's also very costly as far as donor lights, casting and chemicals. Especially when it comes to creating the the first lights and reflectors. Now I'm not always on acurazine but I will come back to answer questions. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
And now the pictures.

Still working on it and looking on feedback mostly before I have to spend all the time and money in making them. Might not be worth all the trouble. Thought if i posted someone might have done something like this before.
Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. Yes I made all the pictures so I could see what it would look like once im done. Mostly wanted to get some feedback It's a lot of work.

I like the look-best of luck on this.
Hey, by the way, we have a Multi-Quote button here on AcuraZine. It's the middle icon in the lower right hand side of each post. Your replies will look like Post #5. Be sure to give it a try!

I have said from the 1st time I saw the prototype TLX that something needs to be done with the rear reflectors as they look stupid. This makes it look better. However it will be good when someone makes some high quality body color snap in panels to replace the ugly chrome reflector that Acura decided to make OEM.

I also wish there was a clear version of the taillight available because I purchased a set for my 08 CTS and it totally changed the looks of the car. While at it, I'd like to see a sequential version of the turn signals using the 8 LEDs in the dual lenses. I would consider buying a clear version, but it would have to be reasonably priced to be considered. Good luck with this, and I hope you get it done.
In my opinion, and this is just my opinion guys.... I like the chrome pieces because it kinda offers a visual replacement to the absent exhaust tips that so many seem to be fixated on. I think Acura did that on purpose to do just that and I feel it works relatively well.

Looks good! But, are clear reflectors legal?

These look amazing. Just curious--how will the prototyping work? Partnering with a specialist or completely by yourself? Either way, best of luck!
Do you mean something like what the Mustangs (I think) have with rear turn signals? I think that would be pretty cool as well--even more if they were amber colored.

The reflectors I was planing on just making a set myself. I've done these before a long time ago. Tail lights I was looking either to try and make a set myself or partner up with a company. Found a company in Canada but minimum order starts at 20 pieces. So im still looking. Real happy about all the positive feed back though. ( I would need a stock set of lights that I could take apart and cast molds. Kind of a mission.
As far as the sequential turn signals. could prove to be difficult since the stock signals are only on bulb at the bottom. brakes would have to be rewired and connected to signals in order to do so. That could prove to be a very difficult task. That and what would you do with all that empty space where the old signal are? Yeah theres a pic in red and amber for the signals.

Fuck, it looks amazing with that colour, which is the one that's being delivered to me.
How much would you say just the reflectors ran you for the donor parts? I would be very interested in these for mine.

I'm for it! Especially on Slate Silver Metallic
Just make sure these are done right, and not like Subaru WRX's hatchback. Keep it close to the TL-S and 3G TL in general side of things.

Hi there I drive a 2019 Acura TLX Aspec Sh-AWD does anyone know where to get the led rear bumper reflector swap? Meaning to change the reflector to a led light for that model? Would appreciate any information. Thanks in advance.

I've not seen a kit for this, and when I removed my reflectors to wrap the chrome surrounds, saw no way to easily fit LED's to them.
That said, I wonder if the TLX sold in Europe has a rear fog light option. That's typically only one side, however.
